For me SC since the beginning but somehow i think MC is the near future.. Thoughts?

the thing is, SC is used by just about everyone, so it's got that going for them. but gone are the days were you can easily see what certain people you are following are "liking." That is what really made SC so brilliant. It's enabled people to see what other who had similar tastes were "favoriting." It was beautiful. I was discovering new music every day, and learning about new artists all the time. Granted it was a major time vampire, but I loved it. Then they went and f*cked it all up.

The other thing I don't understand about Soundcloud, there's no easy way to access all of your favorite tracks. For example, you can click on "artists" that you follow and there's a really good layout to easy see them all. But if you want to see mixes that you favorited years ago, you have to click the down arrow for an hour, it's ridiculous.

Mixcloud doesn't do downloads which kills it for me. But soundcloud is becoming total crap , they have sold out big time. !! It barely works for me anymore . I put in a complaint yesterday and didn't even get an acknowledgement email :lol:

This may have something to do with it.

Mixcloud, idk... just not as convenient or something, but SC gets all bogged down/slow sometimes, which is annoying. For now, SC is still main.

I'm open to new avenues. :D

I don't want to pay an outrageous cell phone bill every month because of these data-eating apps. I try to download everything I can from my laptop and put it on my ipod/iphone... so to didi's point, soundcloud has a clear advantage being able to download some sets. although I've been seeing this feature less and less recently. :(

^^ Quite frankly the way Soundcloud is going who cares. ?? It's barely worth going to any more. Although I really feel for the artists that lose out. But that seems to be the norm these days.

I still like soundcloud a lot, mixcloud's no downloads are annoying.

I think the UI is still nice and easy to use, and any site which becomes big enough and has the most users will always start getting attention of major labels and if they want to crack down on people posting mixes with their content they are free to do so. It sucks, but thats how it works....

^^^The vast majority of artist's own copyright on their own music. Take down notices are claimed by the labels but on behalf of the artists' . Another very big elephant in the the room is that the methods they use to identify tracks are far from 100% accurate. It's definitely a big steaming mess :lol:

Basically the inability to see what people are "liking," when that went away, the majority of what made SC so great went away, for me.

It's not a matter of that troll face, it's a matter of finding new music. Whether I like it is entirely my own deal. But nice try :lol:. You see, if I find someone with similar taste as me, and they "like" a mix on soundcloud, then I'd check it out too. That's not too complicated is it?
