er NO

:KillYou:

#210386Post 3 of 36

I would never pay money to see that guy again. Last time I saw him( Years Ago) He played the most CHEEZ ass trance, and had a CLOCK next to the decks, so as not to play for 1 minute over his one hour set. :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay: :Gay:

#210387Post 4 of 36

not for me anymore...back in the day, maybe.

Or if I got free tix...not worth my 30/40/50 whatever dollars to go see him nowadays.

#210396Post 5 of 36

if he ever comes to my town to play, i'd go see him... but that's because NOBODY comes here.. heheh

depends on how much do you want to see him.. i had a great time when he played in buenos aires, on march 2003, wasn't the best music, but Cattaneo closed the night, and was SO COOOOOL.

if you can catch other good dj that same night, don't think twice and go see the other guy :P

#210483Post 6 of 36

Oakie in my opinion sucks. I cant stand the guy. Last time @ Space in Miami i went to go see Hernan Cattaneo which only spinned for 2 hours at the beginning but later made his way to the terrace around 9am. Oakenfold was so stupid thinking he was god with his hands spread and making stupid expressions. Fuck you!!!!! and fuck me... I know...I used to hate oakie too, then I saw him at Miamia nd he threw down some mad shit. Like 5 hours of really good progs/breaks/MWNN, AP, All sorts of good stuff. Anyway, go see him again just for the hell of it. It amy change your fucked up perspective.

#210489Post 8 of 36

In the past I would agree with your sentiments about Oakie...

However, I have seen him oh... maybe 6 times... from crowds of 300 to say... maybe 40,000.. at WMC. All I have to say is he only plays when he feels like playing, which = bad DJ.

Sucked as in my hometown of Austin, but BLEW my mind and gained back MUCH respect with a 4 hr flawless set of old skool breaks, goa, and old skool trance.

He is coming to Austin in a few weeks... will I see him? Probably not. But maybe

#210490Post 9 of 36

My first response is no but then I thought about it about what oakenfold is and his abilities as a DJ and I realized that instead of saying no I should be saying HELL no. :Die:

#210495Post 12 of 36

True dat. It did mine

:)

#210513Post 14 of 36

He was here last thursday and a couple of my friends went to see him. They said it sucked big time. And these are people who mainly listen to trance.

#210514Post 15 of 36

Last time I saw him was Sona in Montreal 3 years ago... Bastard killed my ears... Haven't heard the same since.... The fucker blasted the treble on a screaming synth line... Everyone without plugs around started freaking out... IMO Stay away from him... 10 years ago.. maybe... but now he sucks.

#210537Post 16 of 36

PAUL FUCKENOLD well, he's coming to my city within 2 weeks time. i might go see him since it's only $15. but that's the last chance i'm giving him.

#210538Post 17 of 36

if oakenfold were in my town i would probably hit up his show. he usually isn't consistent but he always has at least one or two quality records in his sets. if it's less than $20, go

#210592Post 18 of 36

I'd go see him - its a bit of a lottery though, he was excellant at Gatecrasher (Heaven) last year ... (but very very poor at Pacha).

Either way you'll have a great night ... or a good old laugh.

#210594Post 19 of 36

he was good back then

he's crap now.

nuff said

#210619Post 20 of 36

It's been said and I agree, he was :HolyShit: back in the day but now he just makes me :Barf: . I had some friends that saw him a few months back and loved him, of course they listen to top 40...and they did travel to see Tiesto as well. I actually heard a set of his not long ago and it was crap!! His recent cd's are crap too! It's really ashame!

#210627Post 21 of 36

NO.. I was a hige fan in 96 - 2000. But from 2001/2002 he increasingly disappointed me. Regardless of the fact that my own taste wasn't the same.

Still had great moments with him... he'll always be a hero...

AND i've heard from a host of people, fans to those who wouldnt like him at all, who were at Heaven for his Gatecrasher Parties that he was AMAZINg

#210628Post 22 of 36

His next release

He's mixing a Creamfields CD this summer by the way...

#210634Post 23 of 36

if you've never seen him, go check him out, the only time i saw him was when he and carl cox where on the area 2 tour, 2001 i think?? and i enjoyed him, can't say what he is like now...

#210734Post 24 of 36

I think he lost the sense of good music, but he used to be good back in the days :)

#210795Post 25 of 36

oh ya theres no doubt. i loved his travelling and tranceport disc. anyways im am going 20 bucks cant go worng for a good night out with friends.

#210797Post 26 of 36

If it wasnt for his Tranceport cd and a few Essential mixes from 99, i wouldnt even give him props. But that cd and those EMs are pretty amazing. i still listen to Tranceport once in a while, especially during the summer.

#210838Post 27 of 36

I saw Oakie in NYC last year around Thanksgiving, and that was by far the worst set I ever heard from a major DJ. It had no structure whatsoever. Oakie started with trance, and then played a couple of Benny Benassi tracks, Nobody Listens to Techno, and As the Rush Comes. I was like, wtf?

Thank god for Eddy Bang who closed with a banging (pun intended) set!

#213754Post 28 of 36

i saw him a few months ago & I have to say he was realy boring...he is still one of the highest paid Djs and all he does is play the cheese tracks at 140 bpm.

#213807Post 29 of 36

People should try everything once...If you don't like him, then you'll know the answer to this question in two weeks when the topic comes back up again. I have not seen him, nor is he high on my lists of DJs I "need" to see...but I really enjoyed his mix at WMC and imagine I might enjoy a show...unless he starts playing all markus schulz and Anjuabeats labelled material...then it will be like everything else on DI.fm

#213819Post 30 of 36

Definitely not. He was over here not so long ago and I didn't go but the reviews from the "silly glow-stick children" who did go were not good.(which is strange for this cheese infested city i live in :Who: )

#213825Post 31 of 36

Okay, so, after this thread...Paul Oakenfold will officially be called: All Brokenfold

#213868Post 32 of 36

well i saw him and i can officially say it was weak. the only sweet part was when he played lost vaugness and the rocker mullet. aww well cant win them all.

#213888Post 33 of 36

Ok Good!! :ChatterB: :Naughty:

He isn't for me either...I saw him in Memphis and left 30 minutes into his set...gambling seemed a lot more fun than the shit music he was playing
