Re: um. wow

So I use to skate a lot a few years back, have not been on a board since, and since the dawn of time I always wondered why do we need long boards. When they became a 'trend' about 5 years ago, I was just thinking these guys have no idea.

Alas, this changed everything:

Re: um. wow

DUDE! Those photos are incredible! These are in your house?

That would be a rad thing to have in my house  my son would love it and I love water/fish etc... but it's a lot of work, right? do you have a professional come clean it or do you handle it?

Are there more than 1? How many gallons? super cool hobby G.

Re: um. wow

um.wow.... Garrick's aquariums!! I'm super jealous!!

I have a starter 10 gal fancy guppy aquarium I virtually do nothing to but feed & change the filter occasionally, and it's loaded with fish that keep multiplying. They're mostly tiger striped, like 75 or so? Have had it for 5 yrs.

This thing defies all logic to sustain life; seems to have it's own Eco-system going now for years. I just can't imagine having a reef saltwater aquarium, heavenly! Garrick, tell us more. :p

Ok, well... I don't have the camera equipment needed and my fish (just fancy guppies) are small & very fast moving. We tried to put a Gopro in the tank, some fish investigated it (1st pic) so you can see some of their pretty colors, then as the camera sat on the bottom of the tank, we snapped a pic (2nd pic). Got some video too, just haven't figured out how to save, download, etc. they're on a different computer. Here's what I've got so far (embarrassing compared to Garrick's). These are a few of the bigger ones; there are always tons of babies.:D

I tried just taking pics of the tank, but they move so fast you can't see them. About 5-10 guppies are recommended for this tank, but I have so many I don't know what to do with them. They rarely die either. They like being "a school" I believe.

Re: um. wow

My new goal in life is to have an aquarium! even those shitty pics look awesome :roflmao: "compared to garrick" I nearly spit out my invisible coffee   TGIF BISHES!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously - that is a lot of fish! how fun :)

Re: um. wow

ooh, I know... terrible pics, truly embarrassing. But I had to post something or stfu. :D

so they are um.how.awful.... on many levels (incl overstocked tank) :what

I started out really taking care of it, everything by the book, but they reproduced too fast. I think I started with 4. They are enjoyable/relaxing to watch though. There's always at least 25-30 tiny babies in there.

Kids (easy to please) love em. haha

Re: um. wow

Pretty crazy. Follow the links through on Youtube and you quickly realize that longboard / downhill skating is actually quite a thing with organized races and pros who make a living, etc.

Here's a fun video of what happens when it doesn't quite go as easily as it looks :) Number three =:shock::shock:

Re: um. wow

I wonder if they surf at all... they will make great surfers.. the balance they have on those boards is amazing

Re: um. wow

^I'm sure most do, if they are near the water. I think most patrons of board sports participate in all forms.

^^The fail comp does a little justice, it is pretty dangerous. The guys in the previous video I think makes it look easy, much alike many other sports related thing.

I'd still prefer just a casual skate. Something more like this:
