gf spent around $1600 for 7 days with RV (4 way split), gas, food, drinks, ticket, and party favors..they also had to buy 1 50 gallon barrel for water.
I am sure that you can do it or less if you tent out, but I hear its really hard to sleep because of the heat in the morning/during the day..
I think its worth it to be honest.. its a pretty amazing experience.. if you have the opportunity, do it! That's what happened with my gf.. someone from that group canceled, so she took their spot.

... when she got back from the desert we went to her regular doctor and they said she was at around the 7 week mark, but she needed to go to a specialist for a more accurate date, so she made an appointment for today.
On Saturday we were at dinner, she had to go the bathroom, started bleeding and lost the baby.. lots of emotions, sadness, pain.. it was awful. She went to her appointment anyway and this is what I got an hour ago:

So how far along is she? I just kind of assumed she was past the first trimester. As Jay pointed out, you will want to wait to announce her pregnancy to anyone until 12 weeks before saying much, just because things commonly don't workout as expected. And it's quite common for that to happen, so if it does, it's not a big deal. But things also do workout often as well, just depends on a variety of factors :).
