hi all was wondering if anybody managed to get hold of a copy or rip the show when aired.Colirio have stopped hosting the shows on their tracker. I know theres some cattaneo fans on here so did anybody rip it??? Be much appreciated if anybody that has it could get in touch

On May 8th after ripping and uploading Hernan Cattaneo's Resident show, as I usually do, I went on Cattaneo's forum and posted my opinion on the show, that I DID NOT LIKE IT. Hernan was very upset and asked that I not post on his forum any longer. I've been giving feedabck on his forum from it's inception in September 2003. For this reason and never receiving any thanks or appreciation for ripping his show since 2001, supporting him, sharing his sets with the world, and his first words to me being that I should leave his community.

From now on, any rips that I may have: Resident Hernan Cattaneo @ Metrodance, will not be made public. FOr over 4 years of supporting him gratuitously as an artist has has served me nothing.

I lament what has happend.

Why don't you just record it your self then. Find on when it is on and just record it on the internet. All you need is a good cable connection, total recorder and patience. Then your all set.

have you ever listened to Metro951 stream??? SHIIITT!! they have only one quality, VERY LOW.. hehehe.. they broadcast a 20kbps stream and it sucks :?

only way to get a decent copy of the set is having someone in buenos aires recording it from the radio.

Spiker has been a great contributor to the member sets section and will always be welcome here... hernan is just another assflacking jock to fall into the money grubbing world of perfecto. I jumped on the boat with asdf once he started playing tracks off tong's essential selection. A shame because I have good memories of him playing here. Hubbub!

Dont get me wrong now...I was the hugest fan of digweed....I collected every single kiss show, and bought many many records from that show that I liked...so i supported him in every sense....

Being an avid listner of digweed for many years i just dont like the direction he is going in now....and what wrong with expressing that?

These djs need criticism, if they didnt have any criticism they would never improve....

I cant belive this is even being debated....aint this what these boards are for??

It's hard for me to believe that some constructive criticism such as "I'm not a big fan of the music you played this week" or "I think you should stick to the dark tunes" would cause Hernan to jump off the deep end like that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any way insinuating that Spiker is lying, but there are two sides to every story.

Hi... I'm new on this board...

I watched all the process of the inconvenient.... Spiker has been tremendous helpfull along these years, but this time I think he made a mistake on his choose of words. He literally said:

So, maybe that wasn't the right way to say it, but perhaps the right call would it be to send a PM and edit the post. After all Spiker didn't meant to insult H.

Anyway... H made a decision, maybe a wrong one or not, everybody make mistakes. That's all, no one can shoot H for this... you're getting to far people.

Don't forget that all this started with disrespect ways of communication.

There's no exact translation for CAGADA... between friends is very common... in the forum, for sure, wasn't the first time used, but not in that way. Nevertheless, as I said before, with a PM and an edit, in my humble opinion was pretty ok. The translation would be: bull shit... because in the states is very common to use. But it isn't an offensive way in most of the times used.

I have to admit ... Cattaneo is an artist, and as an artist you face criticism. I would assume Catteneo gets a lot of positive feedback, but on a rare case he does get a disappointed fan. Spiker is/was a fan. It seems he was highly objective to the music and not Cattaneo personally. So there is a point of criticism. If Cattaneo has a problem that in a rare instance someone will not feel his music, he has a lot coming.

i am a fucking artist, i cannot please everyone. but it will not stop me from doing what i love. that is where my heart is.

i would only hope Cattaneo was having a bad day, and Spiker was the engaged target, either case. It truly is a sad event in all perspectives, esp the dedicated fans and listeners.

reading all the comments to this topic and seeing that some people post comments whithout knowing anything about hernan or having ever been in his forum, i feel it necessary to add my 2 cents to this:

my translation for "una cagada" would be "piece of shit"

it's like you can use it between friends if you don't like something, but you would never say that to the work of a person you respect (that is if you have some minimum level of education, which isn't easy to find anymore in argentina)

spiker did a great job recording and ripping hernan's radio shows (plus sets that hernan sent specially only to him to rip them for the people so I don't know why he says that hernan ignored his work as he clearly didn't). in my opinion both took benefit, hernan getting his sets shared through his fans and spiker adding his name to every single set he ripped from hernan, getting publicity he would never have gotten in other way, managing to have his own dj sets downloaded by many people, thing that would never have happened if he hadn't ripped hernans sets

in my opinion spiker did a mistake considering hernans latest radio show as a "piece of shit", possibly hernan over reacted a little bit, but i think a bigger over reaction was the one from spiker, deciding to unshare all hernans sets and involving the colirio guys into his personal problem with hernan

anyway, things change and there will be people again in the future which will record hernans sets, thanks a lot to spiker for the work he has done in the past and a pity for this to have happened. but these things happen.

all of this being my honest personal opinion, which might be biased as i am a mod in hernans forum (though i think it's not, as i always tend to put things in a rational way)

Its a real shame that things have come to this as Hernan always seems a pretty reasonable guy to me.

Out of interest I saw Hernan at Turnmills last Friday and have to say it was the first time I've been disappointed. He followed Oakenfold (or "Joakey" as he is un-affectionately known here) who played an amazing set - back to those 98/99 Cream days for anyone that likes that stuff (I've quite diverse taste) and the same vibe as his GU New York CD. While the guy gets stick at least he still plays off vinyl.

It was very difficult for Hernan to follow him (and dare I say it, Hernan has always been better in that warm-up slot, unless he's playing 4-hours and can build his set). Hernan pounded it (which isn't entirely to my taste - as I prefer his dark house sets). All in all I was a bit disappointed, however he's been top notch every other time I've heard him (at Heaven in 2003 he played the opening slot ... to three of us initially, but still played some amazing stuff and tore the roof off as the place packed out).

Wouldn't hesitate to see him again ... and today I've learned an Argentinian phrase not to use - good stuff !
