Tragic. The Self declared leader (or one of his generals) of Donetsk Republic tweeted they had shot down a plane about the time MH 17 went down. The tweet was later deleted.

They did shoot down a Ukrainian troop carrier of similar size about a month ago too...70+ crew and soldiers died in that..

I read they targeted the 100 AIDS researchers on board.

Ground to air missile fired and then tweeted about is really sick stuff. They keep calling it 'the crash,' but it was premeditated mass murder.

The media blurred out the bodies in the pics of the crash site, but not of the little boys on the Gaza beach, which I'm surprised by the NY Times (I think that's really disrespectful to their poor parents). Maybe their intention was to provoke public outrage?

I'm taking a hiatus from the news this weekend.

Sorry, I can't. I think the article was recanted. I read it on my FB first thing in the morning (& I only follow 3 news medias on FB) and can't find it. It said that beforehand there was a twitter discussion about the upcoming AIDS conference and the instigators wrote "We'll get them all then." and I read some of the comments people made about that.

Cool they follow these idiot's twitter accounts and they might have read it, but if it was later deleted and no one got a screen shot, it's just hearsay. I swear I read that though and it was not written with any speculation.

My personal opinion is that it was not random as they are making it now seem with the latest released audio recordings. I believe it was deliberate and they had general knowledge women, children, and the AIDS researchers were on board.

Premeditated mass murder, the missile was aimed and fired on people, albeit a war zone. Why were they flying in that zone I haven't read anyone answer? It was the only way to get there? That the flight included AIDS researchers makes it even more tragic/horrific if that's even possible.
