Re: meeting the right chick
I find it difficult meeting any woman let alone the right chick

First impressions might be the problem: I'm 5'5" and 132 lb (at the moment) and Asian. So physically I'm completely against the norm in the Western countries I live in. Obviously I speak with a non-local/neutral accent. I also shave my head, have a labret piercing (a chin piercing) and an industrial piercing on my right ear (a steel bar). So that adds another barrier to the first impression (I think). I probably have a severe countenance: Nobody ever approaches me on the street for drugs and people have thought I was a 'gangster'

I don't know about looks but colleagues and people I meet always comment positively on my style and dressing, to the extent that some people think I'm gay because I look so 'tidy' and groomed  I'm also trim and athletic for the ripe old age of 38.

But I do know I'm not much for small talk or the usual stuff that facilitate men meeting women, I don't function well in large groups; at a patty I prefer to keep to people I know. I can be very very socially awkward because my interests and conversational topics tend towards the very geek stuff.

And I've kinda given on the whole meeting women thing. It's gotten to a point where I can be completely oblivious to women's body language or any kinda flirtation/intention.

There's actually no downside to this because I've moved around so much I've gotten used to doing things like movies, dinner, theater, shopping, on my own; and if there had been someone in my life it would've been so much more difficult to relocate as I have.

One downside I do fear is I've gotten so used to doing my own things that I might become eccentric without even realizing it (the above points about my niche interests and knowledge, and being socially awkward). I actually find it tiring when friends crash with me and we have to keep doing stuff or I have to accommodate another person's wants.
I dated a girl that was 5'0 (I'm 6'2) but had the personality and confidence of a girl that was 5'9. I think it's all in how you carry yourself and believe in yourself. She wasn't someone I was even initially attracted to, actually her friend was the one I thought I was interested in, but her friend had a serious BF... (they were neighbors of mine in college) She kind of pursued me and as I got to know her I really liked her and we dated for about a year, she still remains someone who I think of often and is special to me. But I digress. As a male, height may limit you a little sure, but that doesn't mean there's not a rad woman (see what I did there), out there for ya.

What the fuck has height got to do with personality or confidence? Have midgets got no personality or confidence just because they are small? You sound like one of them idiots who sell life coaching to losers.

"oh err that girl is really hot, but she's 6'2, too tall for me"

Good god man, you could get better advice from a sexual predator.

Feather is a midget with a personality of a tall person.

Does a blood orange get more pussy than a pink grapefruit? One's better looking but the other has more inches.

Napoleon Bonaparte was short, I bet he would have done well with the chicks, if he had had Florida to give him advice.

What about guy's? Do you also give advice on boy on boy action? Or does that mess with your church going?

Re: meeting the right chick

I think it's pretty weird to constantly start threads but ignore those that reply to your subject. Florida, does your wife know you're offering yourself up as an internet guru on meeting "chicks"?

I have no trouble at all picking up girls, never have done ;)

Funny you should mention that, Florida reminds me of Clive Pringle from Monkey Dust.

Re: meeting the right chick

Maybe Florida should have his own In Treatment sub forum. Where members could post their own problems and Florida could give them solutions. If members have money problems, they could contact Florida, free independent financial advice. Problems getting laid, Florida will sort it. Next doors dog is won't stop barking, ask Florida. Problems getting a job Florida will be your own carear consultant. Dick not big enough, Floria will stretch it.

All you need is a couple of quick wins and people will be queuing up.

Re: meeting the right chick
With all the physical attributes you described about yourself and the personality ones, you're still the perfect combination/mix to attract someone specific. I used to focus on a few of what I considered to be my flaws or differences.... out of the ordinary things about myself, and I believed no one would want those, then I found my husband and he was attracted to exactly those things I viewed as flaws. And something about him he was teased about by his family his entire life, turned out to be one of the peculiar physical attributes that drew me to him though I would have never known until I met him. (I didn't go looking for that attribute.) I still see it and think "Oh, I just love that about him." Don't sell yourself short, you're exactly the way you are for a reason and if you want someone and believe you're a fit for someone in just exactly the way you are, you will be. If you'd prefer being single, that's fine too, it's totally up to you. You can find someone who'll even meet your needs for independence/solitude in just the right way. There is such variety in this world for this very reason, we're all attracted to particular things and we can't help it, we just are. It's rather cool that way. Besides it's the soul that actually attracts because everything else changes as we age. You have to be open to it though.. remain optimistic & open. You'll be surprised and delighted.
With no attention to point out members who are mentioned the above, and the original author of the piece, I would have to say this is a perfect response, if not advice given for the subject matter of this thread.

I commend (you know who you are) on your thoughtful input, and disrepute the original author of this thread, as I denounce your lack of knowledge, if not an over assumption of experience in this matter to resonate 'advice.'

Re: meeting the right chick

^geez guy, had I not started this discussion the em the above post wouldn't have happened. That's the beauty of message boards right? If other members can chime in with more productive input then everyone wins. My issue is nobody really starts threads in GYY that much anymore but certain individuals (albeit a small majority) love to pick apart threads rather than contribute or start a thread. I also believe that some members are more gifted at speaking their thoughts to a person than typing them, and in my case I kind of am always in a super rush to just post and logout and move on with my day. I should have a disclaimer that reads: "in a hurry, please don't read into or take my posts too seriously, as I'm here mostly for fun."

Re: meeting the right chick

Don't worry FO, this thread provoked enough thought and responses to last 6 pages, mission accomplished, I wouldn't worry about it :)

In all fairness the bit Illuminate quoted was a response to my post here but posted in another thread so that wouldn't have happened if this thread didn't happen :)
