Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
No vinyl! :P
Maybe the digital age is truly here if older guys like Sasha don't want vinyl any more.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Nice setup. Let the digital age begin.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
it has begun.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider

ditto 8)
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
what is the world coming too?
nice setup and all, but where is the fucking vinyl :not me:
btw where did you come across this?
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Maybe I'm ignorant, but what the hell is that picture? It looks almost like an ad for Apple.
As far as going digital. . . I say, if the technology is there. . . USE IT. It will put you ahead of the rest. Electronic music has it's foundation in technology. To ignore it would be to turn your back on it's essense, don't you think?
Anyway.....it's not like Sasha doesn't know how to use vinyl...shit, he mastered that AGES ago.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
that's what Sasha needs to play on any gig
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Lookie, lookie, it's my avatar... Did Sasha steal the idea from me? Motherfucker! :sasha:
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Where's the coke and tequila ?
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
ok i know the thing infront of the dj is the mixer but was is that thing under the two cdjs??
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
^^^^that's the Allen & Heath V6 mixer...
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
first i wasnt really diggin into this new sound from sasha but the more i listen to it the more i like it
I agree, but it also should be said that Sasha has also refined and developed this new method.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
the only thing i hate about the new sasha is when he repeatedly studders the tune. like the cd skipping. but again, that is the ONLY thing im not digging. well, he has become less emotional and more trancy.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
My biggest problem with alot of Sasha fans lately is that all of a sudden they are Ableton Live experts. Trying to tell them anything about the history of Ableton is like talking to a wall. Sorry just had to rant for a minute.
Other than that I wouldn't mind having that set-up.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
it's good love making music. and when you are done ... you can dance.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
I really liked his set for the tsunami benefit and I totally see the advantages to his setup and I do enjoy the way it works for him.. HOWEVER, Almost crave the slight variance in beats that you can hear in even the best djs when they actually mix something together-here and there for some crazy, quck mixes I am loving it but I do crave the feeling that someone is doing something live in front of you(that was one of my qualms with the Mylo essential mix too BTW

Nigel, what is the history of Ableton? I'd like to hear.

Maybe history is the wrong word, what I mean is lately I have had a bunch of arrogant Sasha fans talk to me saying stupid shit like "Yo, he is like the first person to use it" and "What he does with Ableton is so mind blowing" which is crap because Chris Micali and a bunch of other Boston producers use it for their live PA's for a couple of years now. They think that since Sasha uses it that they know everything about how to use it, don't get me wrong it is a great piece of software but put it in front of them and they would have no idea what to do.
Mind you the only reason I went on a quick rant is because I had a bunch of Sasha fans try to talk to me like I was some sort of idiot that didn't know anything and all of a sudden they are pros.
Cheers!
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Yes...it is here!!!! The all digital age of dance music has cometh!!!!!
Man, I'll tell you...that setup is everything computer junkie/electrophile/technology lover's wet dream. I just want to look at it up close, much less use it. All he needs now is one of those laser turntables I posted a link to in another thread. Then the process would be complete.
Way to go Sasha!!!! Leave it to you to keep pushing that proverbial envelope!!!!
:Respect:
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
thats a pretty fuckin phat ryder
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
btw..??
where is my avatar???
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
I wish I had a crew of engineers to build me Maven, oh wait I'm an engineer with no time to build something like that! I will have to compromise with the Evolution UC-33e! It does the job but needs more knobs!!!!!!!
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
btw..??
where is my avatar???
This is a long and annoying story so I won't bug you with it and just tell you that it?s back now.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
im curious, and i am usually not curious person...
i liked the other one better though
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
The other one? :? Which one did you have? Drop me an Email with the Pic of it and I replace it.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Nice set up.I tihnk Sashas gonna do great with it
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
any idea what his personal rider's like?? I can make some assumptions, but wondering what his mgmnt team sends the promoters...
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
That's what I'd be interesting to see. Not to say he is gonna pull some rock star shit like Van Halen and their "no brown M&Ms" deal. I just think it would be interesting to see what Sasha thinks is essential to his success night after night.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
lots of coke and malboro menthol lights
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
looks good to me.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
how many big dj's still play vinyl, Cd's are simply easier to carry through airports, and you can have a lot more of them than lps. I do love to watch a dj spin vinyl though. There will always be something about it.
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
Nigel, thanks for the info that's interesting. I have started using Ableton a little bit. It's pretty cool. The only drawback I have now is it is hard to sequence drums (like from Battery)..
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
agreed. but live is the future...for studio prod AND DJing..its amazing and its scaring the pants off the programs that cost $1000 that cant do what it does. dont be afraid to RTFM either. you learn something new EVERY time you pick it up. guaranteed...well..you have to pick it up and read it though
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
lots of coke...
I was gonna say "No, I mean what he gets from the promoter." Then I thought "He probably get that from the promoter."
Re: SASHA 2005 technical rider
i blame it all on James Zabiela and his robot fetish!

BUMP Apologies for the bump but I just leapt out of bed when this idea came to me...
Going from the rider, I could pack a wireless keyboard and mouse with me when I go clubbing, and screw around with sasha's set! It's not hard to sync an extra mouse with those logitech bases is it? Hell, I'll go back to back with Sasha!
