Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

Man, I went to that place many time to see S & D. To this day I have never seen 3000 + with all eyes and intensity on a DJ. I get some chills just remebering how that place was. And yes those Phazons were SICK!!!!

:Twilo: R.I.P

I'll be going back to that place for the first time tonight since the last S&D Thanksgiving weekend night they had there. Should be a great night tonight.

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

Damn, reading that from John himself makes me real sad...boy do I miss that place.

One of the few clubs, if not the only one, I've been to in my life where all the right ingredients managed to come together perfectly just about every time out.

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

I was there for that night he mentioned. I was with my g/f and partied it out. Great night. My first and last night at Twilo.

I'm sure many of us have the Kiss Show from that night. Funny how much things change in 4 years. Hope he remembers how his sound was back then and goes in that direction. Diggers is kinda losing my interest these days. Wow, never thought that would be possible

Fuck this opinion shit, it was the best night since the doors of twilo shut in '01. if you were there and thought otherwise, stop trying to have a good time, you suck! :) Right people?

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

crobar was the best i heard s&d together since the twilo days....now only if digweed could get a nyc residency again...

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

yeah, crobar is slowly becoming a special place, not just another super club, but a consistent reliable atmosphere with sick music.

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

I keep on saying it .. but I wish John would crack open a couple of old Twilo sets from his vaults - or do a special Twilo "classics" show.

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

twilo was my first clubbing experience, to see no other than sasha back in 98. walking down that dark corridor to the tickets area still give me goosebumps.

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

Twilo.... I will be in my rocking chair knitting my grandson socks and still be talking about that place. It was my first clubbing experience as well. Sasha and Diggers, January 28, 2000. I agree about that front corridor. . . you're passing the metal detector and you're getting butterflies and you can hear that dark music swirling around and you just KNOW you're gonna be transported into another dimension for the next 10 hours. Where? You don't know. gggooooosssseeeeee buuummppppssssss. RIP Twilo.

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

i was there that night. digweed vs. tenaglia.

after diggers and tenaglia tag team for awhile i saw diggers cutting through the crowd looking like he had one to many heinekens. that was around 11am. what a night.

I'm glad Twilo closed. If it was still open, I'd probably be a vegetable. RIP!

Was Terri Shiavo at Twilo?

Re: FAO Twilo heads, get your memories ready

I remember that night. It was the last time I was at "Twilo." I can remember just closing my eyes and listening to how he layered each mix in and out seemlessly. That was one of my most memorable nights out, not only bc it was the last night there, but everything seemed to fit so perfectly. The people around me, the music, everything.

I can still remember listening to "everything in its right place," "hide u," and an enya track as his encores.

Another great memory was just looking up at him with that smile motioning to mike the light guy to throw the lights off.

Closing a party out now definitely does not feel the same. Back then I would look around and only see maybe 40 people in the whole place but with grins from ear to ear. Now everyone knows about the "secret." Now you get half the party staying, which is great, but it's almost like you know something they dont know.

Such an intense feeling being back in that place for Howells the other night. I was waiting for the right time to go back, and Im glad I did.

I stopped Mike Bindra as he was walking past me and I said to him, (as corny as it may sound), "Thank you for giving life to this room again."

wheres the kleenex? hahahahha.

peas.
