lucky guys....there is an issue with the vinyl editions, Scott sent me the following [COLOR=#fff0f5][I]''[FONT=Helvetica]Regrettably we have had some pressing problems with the vinyl. In fact the machine at the factory we are using has literally blown up after repressing a large quantity of an Oasis album and the other available plant is in the middle of an obscene run of Led Zeppelin albums so we are having to wait until the pressing machine is back up and running[/FONT][/I] [FONT=Helvetica][I]At the moment we are being informed that the vinyl should be delivered to us by next Tuesday after the UK bank holiday providing that the pressing machine gets the new parts it needs and the press can be cleaned up in time. Provided this happens as planned we will get all orders dispatched on the day we receive the stock. Please check our facebook and we will make an announcement when the vinyl arrives, just in case we do not receive it all on Tuesday and hopefully the next e-mail you will receive from us will be confirmation that your order has been dispatched. I think the way The Vagabond was run and the nights programmed really tapped into the local crowd, offering a whole variation of different music based nights throughout the week. It had a real friends-and-family atmosphere and drinks were regular pub prices, which complemented the vibe. It didn't go for a VIP crowd, but made everyone feel like they were a VIP. All were made to feel welcome.

[I][B]Do you think this is following any kind of general trend, where the smaller, earthier clubs are getting pushed about by the big shiny plastic ones?[/B][/I]

I think people will always want to search out and find the more raw and underground clubs. If everyone went to the same style clubs it would be boring. When you find an intimate place like The Vagabond you can really open up people's eyes into how much fun they really have in a club without having to distract them with unnecessary bells and whistles. [I] [B]How did you get involved with the Vagabond and Carmel Ophir?[/B][/I]

Carmel and I have known each other for nearly 20 years. We've been friends and have worked together throughout that time. We have a unique kinship and I consider him a very dear 'mate', as well as a great operator/marketer/producer who wears his heart on his sleeve. He has been providing high quality events for over 2 decades in Miami. I was involved with Carmel during the Lola day`s on South beach (23rd Street). One day he discovered the site that would become The Vagabond... He showed me the space, and I knew then it was a perfect place for his vision. I felt a connection to it immediately.

[I][B]Was there a particular moment when you realized there was something special happening there?[/B][/I]

The very first week the club opened, the feedback was incredible, and when I played for the first time, I was like WOW this is the perfect venue. 6 years later it concluded with an incredible high.

[I][B]Did you play a particular kind of set when you played Vagabond?[/B][/I]

The thing I loved about playing at The Vagabond was that the set just seemed to flow out of you. The crowd and the atmosphere allowed you to really push yourself as you knew that the crowd was behind you all the way. For me as a DJ, it`s all about playing new and upfront music, and you want the crowd to trust your judgments and have faith in what you do. The Vagabond crowd was always up for it, so as a party, it was incredible

[I][B]Is there a particular night from the club's history that you'll cherish? People who you will miss? [/B][/I]

To be honest every time I played there it was very special. The parties just seemed to get better and better. We seemed to attract a like-minded crowd who came to party without all the drama that goes with some of the more mainstream venues. Music first, but the unity on the dance floor was something to witness. All the staff was a pleasure to work with and always had smiles on their faces.

[I][B]Does this bring back any memories of when Twilo closed years ago? Was there any kind of affinity between playing a set at Twilo and at Vagabond?[/B][/I]

When Twilo closed, I had played there the week before so nobody knew it was closing down and I never got to say goodbye. [B]With The Vagabond I knew going into the party it would be the last time I would play there, so I really dug deep with my set and played my heart out from start to finish. [/B] :Respect:

[I][B]The announcement came quite suddenly. Would you like to have done one last blow out before Vagabond closed?[/B][/I]

That would have been nice but the circumstances as they were didn't make that possible.

[I][B]Could you tell us about the three-disc Live In Miami?[/B][/I]

I think the Live in Miami album really captures the mood and and vibe my last night there. From the very first slow building track to the mad acid tracks on CD3. I dug out some real classics for this set. The very last hour had too many big label tracks and it would have been too hard to get clearance, so we couldn't release the entire set which concluded with The Doors' "The End"... It was a fitting last record for such an amazing party. Quite emotional actually.

[I][B]You mentioned that this is the end of the chapter rather than the book. Could you maybe give us any hint as to what this next chapter might look like?[/B][/I]

Who knows as that ball is more in Carmel`s court. He always has a way of discovering places off the beaten path that resonates with the crowd that are looking for something different and unusual. He seems to gravitate opposite of where the trends tend to go. You know those diamonds in the rough? Well he likes to polish them up for the next wave.

[I][B]After the album, what's next for you?[/B][/I]

I've got my residency at Pacha in Ibiza this summer, as well as festivals and club gigs all over Europe and North America. Bedrock Records has some amazing releases coming up with albums from Pig&Dan, Guy J and Denis A all in the pipeline. So, keeping very busy, but all is good.

You know what I would have loved his entire Ruby Skye set from a few years back. That was such a awesome set. Nonetheless, still looking forward to this mix. Hopefully it is a little more atmospheric, as opposed to his other releases form the series.

kind of waited this time to buy it (normally get the cd) thinking i would go ahead a go the digital route this time since u get all the trax, but u barely get any of the individual trax. was surprised to see how many were left out on beatport.

First cd halfway through (Bought the digital from junodownload, 12 € for 35 single tracks and the mixes, BARGAIN!), I'll let you know in three hours. Full length is 3 hours, 46 minutes.

The first disc is fantastic, will listen to it a couple of more times before moving on to the second.

The vibe inside that room must have been quite something I'm sure.

wow how did you get 35 single tracks, every place i am checking you only get maybe 20 of the individual tracks with 16 of them unavailable in the package

Everybody I know who've listened to the whole thing through seem to have a different favorite CD which I think is a very positive thing.
