I bought a controller AKAi APC40 to use with Ableton Live. It starts and everything, but when I set the preferences in Live, in the MIDI section, I find the APC40 but in the fields of the midi in/out ports I have no choice (it says none). Y upgraded ableton live, and still the same error. The computer seems not to see the controller... I tried everything. I have a mac book pro with mac OS X. A friend of mine, dj, told me not to upgrade to Maverick OS because bla bla tech stuff.

does anybody here had this kind of problem using live with controllers? thank you!

Re: trouble with LIVE + AKAI APC40

I finaly solved the problem out. I sent the controller for repair, and it was missing a piece of the circuitry (a resistor, previous to the USB port). The tech guy repaired it, and it started to work fine. I started using it for the band, and in my free times I play a little electronic music, mixing a couple of tracks and making some noise using effects... and I have to say that, I´m appreciating even more the work of DJs. :D:D not that I want to become a DJ, it´s just for the fun and the love for music.

besides this, I contacted Hallendale´s Guitar Center store, where I purchased the item. They didn´t give a fck about it, they sold me a broken item telling me it worked fine. I could have understood that there´s no guarantee for items when they leave the US, but man... you could at least tell me where I could send it for repair. So Michael, go fck yourself. I´ll never buy anything there anymore.
