Following on from Danny Howells' brilliantly-executed Balance 024 album; Balance Music presents Balance 025, mixed by Danny Tenaglia. Danny has finally found time in-between his busy tour schedule to create a stunningly sophisticated techno-influenced mix. On this particular CD, Danny prefers it to be considered more of a "version compilation," as opposed to it simply being another "mixed compilation," considering the intense amount of processing that has gone into just about every single track on the album. This mix most definitely leans towards tech and techno grooves, as Danny felt it was time to be more about what is current and happening for him in 2014. We all know Tenaglia likes to get deep and drummy with his music, but that's not what this CD is about. Overall, this mix reflects many gigs between 2013 and 2014, like Berghain and Panorama Bar in Berlin, as well as the new and wonderful venue called Output in Danny's hometown of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY -- and beyond! A veteran in the game, Tenaglia explains the progression in Techno.

"I could've never predicted this but I do feel that techno is most definitely better than ever - that's mainly because the tempo has finally gotten below 130 BPM," he says. "This made techno more soulful, more swingin', more bouncy and made you feel it like you never could've felt it at near 140 BPM."

That's exactly my point of view about nowdays techno sound.. I play in my sets more and more techno - something impossible for my taste 6-7 or 8 years ago.. i must admit i was house purist and thanks to DJs like DT and Diggers i finally opened my mind for this sound..and i LOVE IT :)

I was listening to GU:London last week for the first time in a few years. Sounded really good. Quite a good capsule of a unique sound at the time.

Well, Finally we got something. Techno is not the most I like but I like the preview. sounds interesting. Waiting to hear the whole thing.

Still I hear, in occasions, Athens and London and still sounds good for me.

And most of the time it is a pleasure to hear to a true legend. specially when there is not many sets from him.

Tenaglia !! Got this today through my guy who normally gets them a bit earlier. But the good news is people who preordered are also getting them early. Tom @ Balance is obviously trying to make sure they get out as quickly as possible. All loaded up ready for long walks tomorrow. !! :D

^^^I can't compare because I haven't heard the others. :lol: Have heard sets :) It definitely has a Tenaglia sound. It has energy. I really enjoyed it out power walking. I would love it on the dance floor :rock: Not particularly for listening at home for me. I would rate it a solid 7/10 but I would think anyone who was more into techno would probably rate it higher. :)

You should at least have his BackToBasics CD probably the most accessible CD he has done. His Athens GU is excellent but in a very druggy dirty way, it doesn't work unless you are in the right mood.

There is so much good music coming out I don't think I have time to go backwards. :lol: I think I might actually have Athens . If I remember correctly I loved the first track but wasn't rapt in the rest. I should listen again, my tastes do change. :)

Unless you are suffering from Alzheimer's you should probably be fine. :) US release is 16th . It was never supposed to be earlier. Ours was 5th September, but he got it out early. Balance is the only label that Australia gets earlier . We probably got it early because we are in Melbourne. :)

Just looked for it for you . Amazon will have it on the 16th. Interestingly the cost would be fractionally cheaper including postage if you had preordered from Australia. Our dollar is a bit weaker at the moment.

^^^ Why have you got such a hard on for Balance. ?? They are a brilliant little label. They put out incredibly good music. They don't do it on a regular basis because they work with the artists to get the best. I have consistently found I can get their releases early. And in case you haven't noticed this little thing called the internet means we don't pay through the arse anymore for imported things. :lol:
