    Hi everyone,

2014 will see the first release of my new compilation series “The Soundgarden”. Putting together compilation albums has always been something I love. This time I have joined forces with PledgeMusic to partner me in offering you the chance to get the album plus many more wonderful things such as T-shirts, prints and even having me DJ at your private event!

Sourcing new music and making it into a cohesive album isn’t always an easy process but something I find very fulfilling. Ever since compiling the first ever “Back To Mine” in the 90’s my passion for weird and wonderful ambient textures and melody-filled driving dancefloor sounds has been one of the driving forces of my search for the perfect track.

 I feel that my role as a producer and dj also includes helping new and emerging talent and giving them a platform to be noticed in this ever-changing musical world. This is something I’ve been able to pursue again with this new album that will be my 13th! On my new Soundgarden album, CD1 will concentrate on the more [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1405"]Leftfield[/URL] side of electronica from deep ambient to fractured sonics. CD2 will head to the dancefloor while sticking to my goal of delivering stunning compositions from some of electronic music’s finest artists, both new and established. I have already commissioned exclusive tracks for the album from producers including [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1664"]Barry Jamieson[/URL], Black 8, [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1550"]Da Funk[/URL] and Waywork and the music is sounding stunning.

To coincide with the album I’ll also be curating a series of Soundgarden events, bringing together some awesome DJ’s and live acts. The first of these will be the album release pre-party in Brixton on May10th!

Not only that: if you live outside the UK you'll get your CD or print two weeks after their release, and that's the best case scenario.

Nobody told us that on the same day the digital version would be available through any major on-line store!! (Beatport has already offered it for a few hours before Nick's camp sorted that out). That also means that everyone and their cat will be able to find it on "blogs" for free.

[I]Nick Warren[/I] has quite the standing in electronic music, having released material via pioneering imprints such as Global Underground, Renaissance and Cream since the early nineties as well as being the A&R behind Hope Recordings and one half of the legendary Way Out West. Here we see Nick return to the mix CD format, which he tells us ‘has always been something I love’, via a 2CD compilation taking in downbeat and club sounds.

CD1 sees Nick explore soundscapes and ethereal textures, featuring records from the likes of Clara Moto and Nils Frahm as well as some exciting newcomers that Nick’s unearthed while compiling the mix. CD2 tips the focus over to the club, comprising an amalgamation of intricate and melodic dance floor focused cuts, again we see some established artists on offer such as Barry Jamieson, Black 8, Da Funk and Waywork, while introducing some fresh talent into the mix as well.

CD 1 is lovely but it seems to pick up pace about 1/2 or 3/4 through, and goes back into a lull, and then the last track picks up the beat again. I don't mind it but the mid-way pick up had me looking forward to something more uptempo.
