WMC is not really my thing, but if I was to get on a boat it would be for Roger Sanchez (you had to be there). I'm going to try and make Bedrock at Easter this year, hope to see you there.

Vagabond for sure. I guess that is the closest we can get to the Bedrock parties he throws in London here in the US..

one boat party.. not sure which one. I missed out on Sasha and the Cattaneo/Warren, but that one still says that you can get tix at the boat at "first come/first serve" basis.. so I might go for it.

If the boat thing doesn't work out I will probably check out Dice and Carola at Space

Scratch the boat.. the Sasha one is probably going to be awesome but its a bit too much for me at $200, so instead i will be doing this

Hernan and Nick Warren are doing an after party post Tuesday boat (details tba) and playing the Weds night.

Looked at the Sasha things, but am doing Digger' boat on the Thursday and decided to go to Josh Wink's Ovum 20 Party at Treehouse later that night.

From all i've seen of these parties they don't look great. Every clip of every gig at every wmc looks the same - people pouting and posing and taking pictures of themselves, not dancing in case their make up smudges - and that's just the blokes! I'm sure there is some good stuff going on somewhere but everything i've seen of it looks so dull, I wouldn't bother forking out for the air fare.

Break from the english weather, somewhere I've not been, house with a load of friends .. it's not that bad.

Always wanted to do it once ... Vagabond/boat aside, can't see me preferring it to the vibe of ibiza ... but lets see.

Plus 5 or 6 Digweed different sets during the week can't be that bad .. will focus on the music and ignore the posing and pouting .. most of which NRJ will be doing :lol:

Some people live their lives constantly comparing different experiences with others... and some people accept new and different experiences simply for what they are. [I]New[/I] and [I]different[/I]. Comparing things, experiences, people and what have you, instead of appreciating them for their unique qualities is a really good way to become miserable.

Im not sure what pictures you are looking at, but WMC is an incredible experience....one of the best holidays/vacations I've ever had.

The weather is amazing, great beaches, fantastic food, the clubs are awesome (at least the ones I attended), incredible music everywhere (all different genres), everyone I met was nothing but kind, and most importantly to me was finally meeting some of the people off of here...it made them true genuine friends, who I will probably stay in contact with for life (pickle monkey, Steve Graham, and jibby (rip friend :( )).

An experience is what you make of it :)

Actually this came up in conversation the other day on FB, the general consensus was that people would go to the boat parties again but wouldn't touch the land with a barge poll.

WMC has a little something for everyone, that's the beauty of it.... but if Pristine beaches and beautiful people and great food are boring, you probably won't like South Beach.

are they throwing the cafeina parties this year? the venue was great and I remember they had holden and lee burridge last year or year before...

and if sasha is having a boat party... you want to be there. and this year is at night...

from what i read the boat party is from 3-9, and he is playing at a club afterwards. every year he plays into the night but not late.

Well, whadda ya know. Seems old jay only likes abusive / offensive comments when they are his. As we saw earlier in the thread, anyone who doesn't share his opinions is an anti social ass or whatever it was haha I'm posting here because I've as much right to as you. As for new experiences, yes of course, I love them.

But were I to head to a party that's gonna cost me half a year's rent to go, only to find out its crap, or filled with people as intolerant and opinionated as yourself, then that wouldn't be a very bright move would it. On all the evidence i've seen, these parties don't look great. Fair play to anyone who's been and enjoyed it, i'm not denying that either - good for you.

Maybe if I had 15 jobs or I got paid 2k a day then I wouldn't have to worry so much but, like I said, some of us live in the real world.

Going for a couple of days: Dirtybird BBQ is always a treat, lucked on the Nick/Hernan cruise, and of course Deep Dish, why not? Get Lost Party, Sasha is performing at 5am that Sat morning and if I can swing it possibly the Bohemian Boat Crusie, Last Resort party looks good too.

Yea if you are planing the trip from Europe its a bit of an investment, and if you hit a few bad parties...sucks. But if you are going from within the US you can do it on the cheap side... my girlfriend and i are certainly on a budget, but that doesn't take away from the music.. if its good of course :)

Can I ask how many of you folks in florida would spend a couple of grand on a trip to, say, Ibiza if all you'd seen of ibiza were parties whose vibe appeared to be the polar opposite of what you always thought clubbing was all about? Would you go? Have you been?

Hm.. tough choice. I probably wouldn't spend the money unless there as a big group of friends going and I knew it would be fun regardless.

To be honest I go to Miami to hear the longer sets, especially Digweed's party. Unfortunately here in California most clubs will close by 330-4 and the crowd itself is not used to 5-7 hour sets ending at sunrise. At least from what I've seen.

So for me Miami is the place where I can experience some of that Euro type clubbing for a relatively affordable price.. my airfare is $330, and I am lucky to have family in the area so that I don't have to pay for a hotel.

In other words Vagabond is kind of my Easter Bedrock party, or some other event like that you guys have in the UK. Is it on par or better.. probably not, but its good enough. So for you to fly out to Miami to see that.. it makes very little sense. The boat parties would be the only thing that might be worth it.

Ah thanks. Nice to get a proper reply instead of abuse. I totally hear where you're coming from and agree. $300 dollars would mean I could go quite easily but my fare would be 3 times that so you see where I'm coming from. It would be a big leap of faith to head to florida when I could head off to Croatia for the same as your trip will cost, or amsterdam for even less
