yesterday i used played cds on my on cdj MkII player for maybe 4 hours straight, i pulled a disk out and put another one in and it didn't want to play. i ejected it and noticed the unit was very very hot. I have never seen this happen before and its a bit concerning especially considering how much these units cost. Is there a reason why it would overhear like that and what should I do

thanks charlie

Re: CDJ 1000 MKII Overheating Issue

Mine have stopped on me on 2 occasions. The track playing just stopped as if i'd hit the cue button. Both times this happened has been in live venues where temperature of the room was high. Never had it happen when playing them at home and it's never been a regular thing. Even when playing longer than 4hrs

2 stops over a period of 8yrs can't be bad so maybe just hang in there and see if it happens again? If one unit got warm and the other didn't that could point to an internal problem, rather than the effect of ambient temperature. But you didn't say warm you said "very very hot" so i'd get them checked out before it leads to a bigger problem

That's sounds possible then? Where did you buy them? Cant say I've looked myself but have you searched for discussions on Web? Dj forums? Tech forums? My guess is somewhere you'll find people who've been through same and can then decide what to do.
