And if the answer is "yes," what other art do they enjoy creating? I ask because I know that most artist work with multiple mediums, since creating one thing often helps another. Would be cool to know that Digweed also painted, or Sasha took photos, and from a financial perspective, I'm sure the dj's who enjoy a healthy following would do quite well if sellingother forms of art were something they were interstellar in. All that to say, does anyone know if any of our fav dj's/products create any other forms of art for the public? I recall that one member here who dj'd also painted. He had red hair and his title was "not cool enough".

Re: Do full time DJ's consider themselves artists?

im always interested more into the private lives of DJs but i imagine if they are not out touring then they are in the studio or trying to enjoy what time they have left with family and friends.

i,m saying are you asking are they artists because they are behind the decks or are they artists in general ? if its general then i would say they are artists because they write music, if its just because they are behind the decks well i,m unsure you could call them artists specifically on that skill alone although there is some artistic merit involved in the skill

I had a few typos since I started this thread via my phone, but ya, interesting response, I tend to agree. Thanks for the link Rawr, that's what I'm really talking about.

Yeah I guess artists, with a pinch of salt.

Days gone by you had djs who were famous just for djing....now they all produce....virtually all...eddie halliwell is "just" a dj no?

This post made more sense in my head.

Re: Do full time DJ's consider themselves artists?

I don't remember the name but it might've been Steve something who quit DJing to pursue photography? (Don't think it's Lawler and not Cusick).

This is basically exactly what I'm looking for. Other artistic mediums these dj's and producers are into. Thanks!

#1705185Post 25 of 26

Re: Do full time DJ's consider themselves artists?

So dj steven Gerrard was also from Liverpool?

You would be mad not to have dave seaman and steven Gerrard on your lineup if England was playing in your town...

Actually it's the ashes down here...illuminate we should cash in on this...even if it's just save deamon and geven sterrad in the bill
