Thursday night right after the announcement of Mandela's passing I had the privilege of talking with 5 individuals from S. Africa who were all here (in Florida) for a Space competition. One of which has had Mandela to her home on 4 occasions. Needless to say, I have a whole knew understanding and appreciation for NM and S. Africa.

R.I.P. - An inspirational man.
A very good friend of mine recently went to see Horace Panter play at a small pub on the outskirts of Birmingham. Horace didn't turn up but the ensuing exchange of emails that led to my friend getting a refund resulted in the guy at the ticket office and my friend becoming firm friends. By association, I now also consider this guy a friend. My birthday is on the 24th of July - which, amazingly, is the birthdate of Lynval Golding.
I know it's an uncanny coincidence and quite unbelievable but I was reminded on thursday that these 2 guys were in the Specials AKA who wrote "Free Nelson Mandela" in 1984.
The world is a pretty small place after all and we're never far away from greatness if we look.

Sad passing of a truly amazing person of the the 20th century. The last great of our times?
Unfortunately the past week has seen a Slovakian minister get caught on recording saying how much of a nuisance it will be to attend, Obama and Danish minister (head of state??) in a selfie (was that in the stadium? ?) And of course the fake sign language interpreter.
