damn why is this half the price of Beatport, am i missing something?
Meant to write cheapest instead of fastest there. Yeah, I can't understand why anyone would buy this from Beatport.

is the DVD a different clip of music then what was featured on the four disks

Re: Live in ?

Only listened to the Rosario discs so far. Some great tracks on there, but overall it's way too housey for my tastes. I remember saying the same thing about disc 1 of London and now I love it, so I may be inserting foot into mouth. On first listen, there's just way too many male diva vocal tracks for me to want to play them again, especially disc 1. On disc 3, Mandarine Park part 1 now...

Re: Live in ?

thanks alot for the track list.

kind of weird. i went on Amazon US to order the CD and I get this "Available for Pre-order. This item will be released on December 17, 2013."

(they also don't list the dvd as part of the deal either, wtf)

Re: Live in ?

That's because you can only get release WITH the DVD from the Bedrock-store. A digital version comes with the iTunes-release though.

And anybody who doesn't like that Jimpster-tune on CD1 needs to get in touch with their inner gayness. Fucking hell it's a beauty.

I see, that kind of stinks, cuz when you order it from bedrock you have to pay an extra $11.50 us dollars for shipping. was hoping to do it through amazon since i am a prime member and free shipping, but would hate not to get the dvd

Re: Live in ?

Just finished CD3. Hasn't grabbed me as much as London did, but it's only a first listen. I do know that I can't stand that Pachanga boys remix and the Tiga/Audion thing, just boring repetitive music. The Jimpster track isnt all that either (sorry Hannu!). Very hard to grumble though considering it cost me £14 for 4 discs and a DVD; I'm sure it will grow on me, and I do still have cd4 to come

just after all 4 CDs. more less same Cordoba funky stuff aimed at southerners. to be honest doesn't feel like Digweed at all.

No, different people have different tastes and they're just voicing their opinions. Nothing wrong with that. When people start being dicks about it, that's another thing.

Re: Live in ?

Had the chance to hear this and Howell's Balance consecutively. Went back and heard Argentina CD 1 and 2 a second time. Love it. Not quite vortex madness but not quite fluffy summer house, feels like a deep building set. Will report on Howells in the Balance thread.

#1704513Post 152 of 235

Re: Live in ?

First two cd's are amazing, more housey, more melodic and still kicking. It feels 100% Digweed for anyone who knows his sets.

#1704516Post 153 of 235

Re: Live in ?

^It is 100% Digweed, currently just browsing the tracks, and making some copies for the car. I must admit I didn't enjoy the way CD 1 started, very modern sounding Digweed with more melodic, housey floating on the BPM. Is it me or is he playing or getting acquainted to a Sasha style set. Really warming the crowd with some house-progressive style tracks layering into more tech as we get along in the night. I suppose that's a usual for any DJ these days, however, I must concur listening to CD 1 and 2 of Argentina in the back of my head kept thinking this was a Sasha set, apart from those annoying 'trademark' Abelton effects Sasha throws in there to signify his mixing signature and abilities. But obviously CD 3 and 4 differs from this, alas, we welcome the Tech, and the ravers that stayed on past 1.

In a quint I think more than London or Cordoba Digweed does really highlight his abilities here. Again I point out his versatility, ability to forecast the crowds nature and timing with the night. In a break down I would relate each CD to a period of his contrasting abilities.

#1704518Post 154 of 235

Re: Live in ?

I didn't find it Sasha-esque at all. It's housey but deep. I dunno, have you heard his GU: HK or SYD? Digweed didn't used to play banging techno. I've always known him for his impactful openers and the tight grooves that just lock you in, I remember walking into Chevron, Melbourne back in the day and knew right away he had come on.

London would follow on very nicely from Argentina. I don't think I enjoyed Cordurba that much, if I remember right it was that summer house sound that's just fluff to me.

Re: Live in ?

CD 1/2 (Strobe City):

CD 3/4 (Munted-Ville):

So I'm guessing both of these sets were from festivals?

#1704526Post 156 of 235

Re: Live in ?

I love the comments from everyone, like 'This is not very Diigweed.' etc.

Of course it is Digweed, what people mean is 'the Digweed set that I fell in love with was not like this at all'.

Digweed plays all sorts, listen to him in Ibiza or in Mykanos, or just compare his sets being played early evening with those being played at 4am, they are all very different vibes.

It is the same with Sasha, people listen to his beach sets and moan it isn't driving progressive or enough of a techno vibe. But seriously? If I had flown out to Ibiza to listen to hom play and as the sun sets over the sea and the cocktails comes out he started playing 130bpm techno or progressive I would go and see someone else.

You have to think about the venue they are playing at and the vibe that venue needs. You don't often here people who are at the venues moaning because they get what is being played at the time.

There are around 15 tracks I adore on this Argentina set, truly magnificent tunes, and they are all the more laid back tracks with a groove, the more techno sounding tunes I don't like half as much these days, unless they are melodic, funky and sassy.

Disc one and two reminded me of Digweed from '93, '94 and '95, pretty special. Now if that Pachanga Boys track along with Jimpster was not on there is would be perfect, both ruin the flow imho.

Yes and its even more exaggerated here since this is from two different nights.. London was a single show after all

I've seen it first hand in Las Vegas earlier this year. He played at a big festival stage first and then at a smaller club venue right after... completely different vibe/sound.. i was impressed.
