Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

How uninteresting can an interview be, and who makes up these dumb ass questions??? There's a lump on his forehead where Digweed hit him, ask about that, dolly.

Musicians/dj's aren't always playing that often though. He's getting up there in age too. I guess I just assumed he was playing less based on the shitty album he put out. If that makes any sense. Does to me.

Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

^ The set for mixmag is way better than the "album" ... And overall from what I've heard in the past few months he is "on it"

Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

yah, the mixmag set is great. and I know he had a variety of issues with the album. it still had no business being released though. reflects poorly. plus, there aren't that many live sets being recorded of his recently has there? so..

High profile DJ's like Sasha do play that often in summertime, that's nothing new. He's been doing it for years and years and a few shitty albums don't matter for that. Don't forget he's one of the founding fathers of 'Superstar DJ-ness'.

Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

I agree with what he said about that 2006 Buenos Aires Creamfields... he became Matrix' Architect that night... damn. I remember telling myself after Underworld's performance... "wow, so what's next? how's somebody going to go on stage and do anything after this?"

then sasha came in  and rocked it, a lot... it was the most massive Creamfields ever in BA, with around 60 thousand people. It was an enormous wave of people all over...

here's a short video from that, with a bit of hernan's interview...

What issues did he have ? I probably missed that bit..

As far as live sets I thought his set at EDC was spectacular

Sasha live at EDC Las Vegas 2013 (full set) - YouTube

Someone was kind enough to work out a track list for that one

Tracklist (posted by Tamas Kovacs)

 1. Pachanga Boys - Time
 2. Henry Saiz - I Can Feel It Coming
 3. Dusky - Mr Man
 4. Rachel Row - Follow The Step (Kink Beat Mix)
 5. Midland - Real Time
 6. Baikal - Why Don't Ya'? (Ripperton Mix)
 7. ID
 8. James Teej - Liking Your Disorder (Timo Maas Remix)
 9. Andhim - Wizard Of Us
 10. Acid District - Depends
 11. Agoria feat Scalde - Dust (Rocco Vision Mix)
 12. ID
 13. Arthur Oskun - Omegaman
 14. ID

And then his live set for Mixmag was very nice as well.. or at least i thought so

NEW: SASHA epic 90min set @ Mixmag Live - YouTube

both pretty short, but solid

He talked about them on a google conference or something. He had to move his setup or something like 5 times while making the mix, and the label or whatever, was pressuring him to release it before it was done. You know, something along those lines.

Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

Here in the uk the big djs can busy themselves through the summer months by playing at the booming and very lucrative "holiday camp scene". What was once the preserve of bad cabaret acts and pub singers is now becoming a place where you can find people in their 40s taking breaks with their kids and listening to the music they loved in their 20s. The camps can sell out their main room by booking Sasha for not much more than a comedian or tribute band would cost. And the punters are happy to listen to music from the good old days while reminiscing about long dead clubs and people having fun without camera phones. Occasionally shaking their heads in disbelief as they come to terms with the fact their favourite mix compilations were never really mixed at all, while denouncing modern djs as fake.

Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

wow that 2006 creamfields video was nuts! i think that might be his best era, although i do like his current stuff my best night ever was at the end of 2006, NYE with john digweed and sasha b2b in LA, amazing music to start the new year. couldnt forget it if i tried.

Re: sasha interview at creamfields 2013

Pff that 2006 night at creamfields was awesome. 2 hs from sasha and then a b2b with hernan to follow the underworld performance is by far something special. I remember the b2b was scheduled 4 to 5 and they kept playing for another half an hour :D I finished in tears, ITwas the first time in my life watching a b2b of the 2 more talented djs to me. The intro with the live edit of the beatles track  That maven was magic. Wish some day he played with it again
