this will split the forum again.

sasha has obviously changed his style after air drawn dagger. which do you prefer before or after. i think he is too over rated now and i just find his sets boring.

And why exactly this is a sticky?... :?

As to your question - I don't think he changed that much, especially not at that point. Sasha is Sasha. :NotMe:

ADD was no turnpoint for sasha in any way imo so:

i think it really was a turning point for sasha, do you have many of his older pieces to compare? his sound totally changed after expander.

Sasha was great then and Sasha was great now...I voted POST because I liked ADD better than Xpander.

But really they are apples and oranges...

IMO nothing is ever going to even come close to Xpander, ever. I really like his older productions ADD was great, and I just need to give Involver a bit more time to grow on me, which I'm sure it will.

i think baja was an amazing track and better than the tracks sasha is producing now. :Bingo:

arkum asylum has to be his best production

#208225Post 9 of 27

both.

althought airdrawndagger is my fav thing from him ever. :)

I love Baja, Xpander, Rabbitweed....blah blah etc. But ADD was a totally new perspective on the music. Granted Charlie May and JXL had an assload to do with the production quality on the album. So, I vote post.

sasha allways is great...........

#208340Post 12 of 27

I liked ADD but then he sucked right after it after his tour.. But his recent E-mix with diggers has gotten me interested again. Still he's no match for Diggers.

Sasha has always been changing his style throughout his career, evolving his sound, always immitated, never equalled 8)

well i dont think so that there exist such a question when we talkin' about someone else especially if he is somebody who is in the 2 first positions of something... I hope Jah forgive us...

#208361Post 15 of 27

ADD to this day is Still ahead of its time.

#208390Post 16 of 27

Biased poll.... he's changed and shifted his direction so many times... its cyclical rather than a complete change :?

#208398Post 17 of 27

Sasha always the BEST!!! :WinkNSmi:

so was it after ADD or after Xpander? :? I dont think it is as much a turning point as it is he is evolving and reinventing himself.

#208469Post 19 of 27

I personally liked his djing more pre-ADD. I saw him on his ADD tour and 4 or 5 times since and I honestly can say that he hasn't blown me away like he always did before the ADD tour. Production-wise is a little more complex. I love the Xpander EP way more than ADD, however I'm really digging Involver so I would say I like his productions pre and post ADD.

:Bingo: :Respect:

Sasha has made a lot for the dancescene in the past and I think he will make a lot for it in the future. He is making the path that most other dj?s will follow.

absolutely :!: :!:

#208599Post 23 of 27

didn't know of him before ADD

#208610Post 24 of 27

no contest, pre ADD era ruled above all. Although I respect him for evolving and changing which ever good artist needs to do after a while.

#208730Post 25 of 27

hmmm....i guess the real question is do you like him as a producer or a dj.

I love ADD and i really like Involver but i'm sorry, even those two masterpieces cannot be placed on the same shelf as xpander and GU 013. Even if Sasha had never produced or mixed anything after GU 013 i would still think of him as one of the best.

Gonna listen to it right now as a matter of fact.

#208733Post 26 of 27

Before: I like GU13 and the last year with tribal sessions.
