Which dj's or mixes do you guys consider to be the best at melding together various genres and sounds, BUT keeping the integrity of the overall vibe of the mix. What I mean is, not like a mashup or anything... just a mix that has a lot of peaks and valleys regarding tempo and mood. But done well. After all, isn't that pretty much what [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=5"]Sasha[/URL] & Digweed's Northern Exposure mix is?

What else out there is like that? The first mix that comes to my mind is [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=31"]Will Saul[/URL]'s Dazed and Confused mix. But I don't really have my thinking cap on right now as it's been a very long day and my head is kind of spinning at the moment because of it. So as I wind down, and turn on shark week I'll come back and check this thread, but ffs please don't troll it. :lol:

MS's Andrew Slattery's "Back to Mine" is another good example actually.

you should check out the Solid Steel radio shows by DJ Food and coldcut and all their guests. Amazing blends of sound styles.

It's super hit and miss for me Huggie, but I'll check those out, thanks. Quality > qauntity for these kinds of mixes. I don't mind 8 min long edits if the track is quality. But if the mix is just a mash up up 100 tracks, those are not what I'm looking for. Just good mixes basically :lol:. Mixes that keep the listener guessing. I'm pretty much over mixes that are all the same sound and genre.

howells essential mix from 2007 too... that was one of if not the best mix i've ever had the pleasure of listening to. i've probably listened to it 100s of times and it never gets old.

Another good mix for me, I cant remember the joris voor mix for balance but I think it is the same vibe.
