Wondering if it would be better to just charge a fee for the use of MN downloads rather then requiring an unknown amount of post. This would free up space, reduce useless post that user's just post in order to download files and for some of us who don't have full use of a computer or the time to post due to work etc. Charging a fee would be good for MN and those like me.. Even though that is beneficial for all the newbies, I have to say you join this messageboard b/c you want to part of MN and talk about anything and everything. Plus, this is the best messageboard out there in terms of EDM. And the perk of belonging to this messageboard is getting free downloads. The reason there are useless posts is because people just want the free downloads and can care less about talking to the others on the board. Downloads use to be free, but then people took advantage. :D

It has been discussed a few times already and the answer is stil the same: Charging a fee for hosting music can't be done if you did not buy or own the rights to do that so that's not happening.

MN is more than downloads. I'm sure many people are here for the downloads. It's there loss IMO, i like posting, far more fun than downloading.

And as far as a newbie i have been a part of this MS through MN long before you have been on the site, not to mention that John Digweed is a freind of mine. I'm sorry if I don't have as much time as you do to post, I wish I did as MN has so much useful and cool information & people on board but i work with a Champ Car and i travel and work all over the world with our racing series and don't have the lesire time as you do to post negative things like your reply to my general question. My post was just an idea and question not a statment that warrented a lame reply like yours. Well I hope you change you actions and enjoy life and MN for what is is intended for...

You have to realize that post quotas and d/l is a sore subject around here. We get these posts all the time and there is an on going issue with people who want to leach this site for downloads without contributing. I'm sure your intentions are good, but that was certainly not clear from this topic, which could easily be misconstrued for a newbie leacher wanting to rock the boat. That type of thing will get you flamed every time.

That said, welcome aboard and I look forward to seeing you around here. What by the way do you do with Champ Car? I'm a huge motorsports fan.

Fact of the matter is that you can offer the suggestions you want or complain about that is it now far for people that can't post a lot can't d/l. Boo Wooo Who cares. Is there really a need to write such things?? For all of those who feel inclinded to post negavite and offensive things to my post mentioning that I know John Digweed. I meant that I have some understanding of the industry from John and one of the reason MS statred. From programers programing while listing to Digweed's music. My mention of John had NOTHING to do with downloading music just in reference of why we all have and partake in the MN site. Case in point that those who post negative things is exactly what I was talking about in regards to users posting needless and offensive post... Sorry to all thoses who are not so negative and unstood my post.

Nah, just kidding. But I do download every show, every week. I'm much more into live mixes than studio albums. Would I still come around if there was no free music, of course, but getting an ass load of free music [b]and[/b] socializing with all these crazy fuckers is the best of both worlds.

Do we really have to be this hard on all the "newbies"? I mean I can understand users tearing up newbies posting "Why can't I download" threads, but I think ChampCar isn't that type of guy. He simply asked a question in a very polite way and even replied in the same topic (which is not usually the case with leeachers who usually stop posting after "being attacked" for posting the question :wink: ) And evangelion, he didn't say all the users are posting crap, otherwise he wouldn't say that MN is a great board (MHO). But there really are, or at least there were (on the 1st MS), lots of people who were posting crap just to access downloads.

Couldn't we be a bit nicer? Just my 2 cents... :D
