Re: Making money/starting a business within house music - can it be done? Not DJ/prod
no in all honesty if u have 30 k lying around doing nothing i'd say investing it in house music would be a bad idea for a few reasons
house music is 20 years + old now, the age group that is into it is getting older ( excluding the edm crowd etc etc ) which means the target market is now all buying houses, running cars, having children and getting married etc so they have less disposable income to buy music, don't get me wrong there are still a lot of people buying music but if you look on places where people buy music a lot of that music is being sold of cheap because no 1 is buying it... to start a distro ( using this as an example ) you would have to build up the business from scratch and build on clientele which could take what 10-20 years before you start making some serious cash and buy that time house music is long dead
investing in music as a whole with that sort of cash is a no brainer ( in my opinion ) as you really have to look around you and see what is happening in the scene, piracy for a start ( killing the industry ? )
