"In other GU-related news, RA can also reveal that Sasha's next mix album "Fundacion Live" will be, as the name suggests, a live set from one of his monthly Fundacion residency nights at Crobar in New York and Avalon in LA."
Dunno how this leaves Involver 2 standing.....

I would have to agree. An 80 min live cd would just leave us wanting more. The more cd's that are released the better.

I think a live mix album would be cool. Just them, the decks and the mics...no studio magic to hide the mistakes.

With sasha's new Maven tool it will probably be difficult to notice if this CD is studio or club mixed. From what I gather Ableton does all of the hard work, whilst Sasha messes around with different loops and samples.

Not exactly true, some skill is still required, but I agree that it does blurr the limits between studio and club, since every move made and every loop thrown in can be very easily edited later on.

Yeah I would think so ( although the Fabric CD was no indication of the kind of stuff he plays at Fabric IMO ). All previous GU CD's have been interpretations of 'live sets' so I can't see this being any different.....

i think anything demonstrating how sasha has progressed with his software would be great to hear.
im gutted i cant get to see him @ fabric in may and it`d be good to see him in the UK more

Most mix cd?s are made for home listening and because of that are "slower" then the typical club mix from the same dj . Most of the classic mix cd?s are like that.
Clubmix cd?s rarely become classic because they arent as interesting after 1 year or 2. They seem to get outdated sooner.

I just found out that this new live CD will be the special 3xCD all-Ableton mashup of "Cowpander" and "In a State".
Rumor has it that he's bringing in BT to do live vocals during the recording.
Oh well......
