I just wanted to thank Digweed and the crew here from MS (well MN now!), to have selected Victor Calderone as guest this week and to have uploaded his session here. I think he's still a great dj, one of my favourite (not always in his best shape, but here I think he's doing very good). Applause.

I agree. Also Victor is starting a monthly party @ Crobar for afterhours from 5am-5pm. Should be interesting to see how that party turns out. I definitely gonna have to check it one night, just to see what demons come out to play during those hours. :D

Before anybody gets it wrong and the next rumor after that Tiesto debacle has just started  , we host the show but we have no influence on what he plays...well in fact we had once but that was an exception. :)

5AM to 5PM. That is one hell of an afterhours. And all kinds of tribally shit will be going down there.

His Kiss mix was alright. But this stuff about his afterhours show is crazy. A 12 hr after party. That is definetly doing it right. I wonder what kinda people are going to stay there all day for that.

Re: Calderone, well... thanks

That place is already grimy as hell by 5 or 6am. Imagine what it must look like by noon. I feel dirty just thinking about it.

Re: Calderone, well... thanks

He used to have a residency at Tribal Sessions at Sankey Soap in Manchester and used to play some of the dirtiest, tribally grooves I have ever heard. Think he still plays there sometimes, but not sure about this year. On his day a great DJ.

Re: Calderone, well... thanks

Never listened to a set from him because his name for me was associated with Hard party gay guys since the days Iused to live in Montreal , he used to have a residency in Stereo and his nights were always full of Big Muscly lolly pop guys , so never really get to listen to him     ,

Listening to his kiss set now and man this guy rocks , banging tribal just the way I like it . Big up to Mr Calderone.

Yup, Calderone comes here often, and he usually teams up with DJ Vibe.

They consistently destroy the dancefloor. I?m a bit tired of the tribal sound, but this guy does it like very few others.

bit tired of the tribal sound yet you have the stereo label as your avatar?

Yeah, kind of ironic isn?t it?

Let me put it this way : around here, EVERY wannabe DJ plays tribal house. The problem is not the genre itself...it?s the fact that people play the same tracks everywhere, and every producer thinks that by sticking a conga loop in their track, they?ve done it. Believe me, for example, I love Dr. Kucho, but I don?t think I can stand another kid playing "La Ira de Dios"...

Victor Calderone has put out tracks through the Stereo label which, IMO, show how it?s done. And the label has now several sub-labels which show it?s diversity.

So I don?t see it as a contradiction.

Victor is great. Thanks for putting the set out there. I just wish that we had some DT sets on MS. He is still my fav. :D

Re: Calderone, well... thanks

I'm half way through the set and he is GREAT! I heard him spin in Whistler, BC last winter and he hasn't lost his touch, love the tribal beats and he is right up there with Chus & Ceballos! :D
