Re: The Fabric Series

Notable absences: Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Danny Howells

Sasha and Mills have both played there, I remember sasha saying how much he loved the place...Jeff Mills played an awesome set there apparently.

Sven Vath too, not sure if he has ever played there, bit another massive name not on the list.

Re: The Fabric Series

There's no lee burridge neither. I thought the original "tyrant" was Craig Richards, Sasha & Lee Burridge? Or they were all playing together back in the day...didn't they play together as tyrant in verboten or somewhere in Amsterdam a year or so ago?

Re: The Fabric Series

The new Move D one is good. It was the first Fabric i've enjoyed in a long time, solid house music from start to finish

Hernan and Danny don't play fabric - not the club's sound.

They played all over as Tyrant. They had a residency at the End in 1998 and Fabric in 1999/2000

Re: The Fabric Series

I only have two Fabric CDs. The Digweed one from years ago, and the Guy Gerber one from more recently.

The Gerber CD is one of the best CD mixes I've ever heard.

Re: The Fabric Series

Listened to the the Jack Beats fabriclive today, it sounded a bit like the one from Fakeblood (not as good though) so if anyone enjoyed that one should give this a try.

The Moved D one was alright but not stellar, really looking forward to see what Maya Jan Coles can do

#1722061Post 52 of 95

Re: The Fabric Series

which ones would you recommend from the more recent mixes? wouldn't mind a good dnb mix either

#1722062Post 53 of 95

Re: The Fabric Series

from the recent ones...the maya jane coles was ok, as was deetron. To be honest the series has become a bit of a let down in recent times. The last fabriclive mix was dnb, cant remember who it was that did it now though. The best dnb one was bukem imo, but the Calibre was also good.

Re: The Fabric Series

the best thing from fabric recently was the livemix from bill patrick that they put up in the members section of the site. I think I saw it listed in P+R on here also

Re: The Fabric Series
word
I think it is the best thing Gerber has ever done. Nearly everything else is monumentally disappointing

Re: The Fabric Series

I've heard several mixes by Gerber that I recall being really solid, but it's been a few years.
^^^ When ??
I want to say 2010/11...

anyway, i haven't heard any of his mixes lately, going to give these a go:

Guy Gerber - Less Conversation Mix - YouTube

#1722139Post 61 of 95

Re: The Fabric Series

I downloaded all of those and was really disappointed. They were all readily available legally off youtube. Imho of course, not a patch on Fabric. 064

Now you mention it, I think I agree. His EM last year was good in places, but most other things are pretty forgettable IMO

Fabric disc is a tune every track

Re: The Fabric Series

Fabric 42(?) Âme mix is nice..

starting off with more dark edgey hypnotic drugged out grooves and into more up tempo shades of weird ans groovy.

Re: The Fabric Series

These are my favs off the top of my head:

fabric 13 - Michael Mayer (November 2003) fabric 20 - John Digweed (January 2005) fabric 66 - Ben Klock (October 2012) fabric 53 - Surgeon (September 2010) fabric 37 - Steve Bug (November 2007)

Fabric and Fabriclive are bloody fantastic.. my admit though that I haven't had a chance to hear the newer releases... even that Guy Gerber one. Must get on it.
