Homelands Arena 1 is rethinking the Superstar DJ game and brings a cross-genre collection of the biggest and best names from the who's who of current talent. It leaves lazy genre definitions at the gate, and so do the guests booked up to play. John Digweed and Richie Hawtin lead the charge, accompanied by Plump DJs and Miss Kittin. 2 Many DJs - for many a highlight of 2004 - embody the sounds of a million record collections collapsing into each other. Welcome to Arena 1 - it's time to break down the walls.

ARENA 1 John Digweed Richie Hawtin 2 many dj's Miss Kittin Daren Emerson Plump Dj's Danny Howells James Zabeila Hernan Cattaneo Robbie Butler
Last time I was at homelands i saw all of these DJ's, but in different tents. Richie Hawtin at 4am after kicking off with James Zab at 3pm in the afternoon. What an experience that was!
Is there any need to even leave the tent all night long?

5 prog DJ's in the main arena shows how main stream Progressive has become. Shame I'm on holiday and not going.

Re: Homelands 2005

I won't be going last year was crap, it was all hyped up to be the festival of the summer but it didn't work for me, I'll be going to Global Gathering instead :D

Re: Homelands 2005

Might do it, although the Glade festival looks better.

global gathering wasn't that great at all last year.

i've got my ticket for the glade, and judging from last year's reports it should be good. great line up too.

Re: Homelands 2005

I hate those big festivals. give me a club any day of the week.

Instead of the over-hyped S & D return festival last year I went to Mr Coe's UK Renaissance return at The Bomb (v intimate with a couple of hundred, rather thousand others) - it was truly fantastic and far better.

Off to see Hernan at Turnmills/Sasha at Fabric next month and keeping my hand in my pocket until Ibiza.

Re: Homelands 2005

^^^^

She?s French and spins Electro.

She also puts out some tracks under the name Miss Kitten & The Hacker. Not so bad as electro goes actually...

Re: Homelands 2005

Sorry to piss in the Cheerios, but IMHO these multi-DJ bonanzas are not all they are cracked up to be. I'd much rather hear a DJ build a story over the course of a 4 hour set rather than these 6 records each cluster-fucks.

Maybe this rant is better directed at these Radio1 parties more than Homelands, but still- give me a warm up act and 2 big-named headliners and I'm satisfied.

Re: Homelands 2005

If they really wanted to diversify this they should add Tiesto or Armin van Buuren :P

Re: Homelands 2005

or they could just crucify judge jules above the DJ booth while digweed drops the new bedrock track. would truly get some hands in the air for that one. :P
