Re: John Digweed live in?

F*ck yeah!

I dont care where its from as long as its a blinder like London was. This is really great news.

Re: John Digweed live in?

So soon after London ? I am not complaining, just surprised.. doubt that it will be Vagabond

Re: John Digweed live in?

Not to sound spoilt, but I do hope it's another 4-CD affair: London was immense.

+1 This ''Live In...'' concept is great and succesfull but i think Diggers and Bedrock people should consider when and why to release it..Why not ''Live In..'' albums 3 times in a year - at the beginning, in the summer, and finally at the end?!..=)

'Cos compilations don't sell these days, and he's touring so much so recording the sets for sale is easy. Plus it's not just us Digweed-deprived folks who'll buy the releases, the people who went to the party will probably love to have something from the parties to remember = profit!

Live in Sweden? Just to show the cheese mafia how its really done :)

Re: John Digweed live in?

It kind of looks like Digweed listens to his fans, most would rather have 2 or 3 live uninterrupted live mixes over the weekly radio shows

the Tranistions CDs were released at six monthly intervals. Given that John's record box changes each night its great to nhave a snapshot of what he's playing every six months :RightOn:

It's hardly a commercial enterprise ... the release is always an absolute bargain !

All about the music.

#1681229Post 21 of 221

Re: John Digweed live in?

Vagabond seems like a logical choice. He did have to change the mixer halfway through which might complicate matters.

I'm really hoping Live in London 2, but doubt that will be the case.

#1681231Post 22 of 221

Re: John Digweed live in?

^^was vagabond that good? didn't seem like it on the bootleg, but hopefully that is just the quality. def could never see a 4 cd out of that one though, maybe two disks max.

Re: John Digweed live in?

I wasn't feeling the first hour of Transitions 450, was a bit too housey for me. Lets hope this is not from that leg of the tour....

#1681237Post 24 of 221

Re: John Digweed live in?

^^^yep that one was mostly miss for me as well.
^^was vagabond that good? didn't seem like it on the bootleg, but hopefully that is just the quality. def could never see a 4 cd out of that one though, maybe two disks max.
I think that is the tricky part with this "live in" concept, he kind of needs to pick something that is (or has an hour or two worth of) a bit "headphones/home-car stereo friendly".. the Vagabond set worked very well in the club, but I don't think it will work for headphones or whatever like London did.

That's why I was so surprised how good London was, and I was asking if he knew he will release it as an album beforehand...

...maybe he can still pull 2-3 hours out of the Vagabond set and it will be fine, but it will very hard to do it in a 4cd format

Ya.. 30+ tracks programmed and mixed to perfection for about $10 .. doesn't get any better :)

hard to guess, almost need a list of the last half years high profile gigs.

digs got a tough task ahead to put something out there that at least equals London

Re: John Digweed live in?

There was the NYC gig ... Liverpool was meant to be extended but ended early.

Easter Bedrock was pretty darned good, but unless there's a Live In London #2 ... I think John will mix up the continents.

Msg from him today was "its a corker" ... in terms of quality etc. he has to be happy with the gig and it has to sound great to him when listening back.

Grabbing a decent slab of his record box every 6-mths is a winner anyway ... and all for the cost of a few weak bland Starbucks latte's !

^ Yeah we got one from Europe and one from South America, it would be cool if they mix it up and do someplace very different. :) Asia would be very interesting.
