I need some creative ideas...

So my son turns one on Fri... we're having a bday party for the lil dude and had an idea tonight that will save us some $$...which is ideal because we've already spent a bundle.

We have a bunch of Vodka and we're considering mixing it, watering it down, and serving that. What could we mix it with that wouldn't get people drunk??? I guess if we add enough lemonade or something that would be fine, but thought maybe someone here would have a better idea.

Do you have to serve alcohol? If not, I have a great recipe for punch if you want it

Re: a little help guvna's

mix it with ice and quality fruit juice, that's nice, it can be colorful (perfect at the eyes of kids), girls will like it, and guys too. If you have a lot of vodka and you don't know what to do, I can give you my address :D

There's a lot of adults coming, and it's nice to have as an option. I won't be drinking as I don't drink liquor. A punch recipe would be great.

Man up and keep the alcohol content the way it should be. It does not take that much booze to get a one year old drunk.......................

Re: a little help guvna's

What's the point of serving vodka if you don't want people to get drunk? That's really the only use for vodka.

Re: a little help guvna's

^That's kind of my opinion as well man, but my wife thinks alcohol should be an option for the many adults attending...and she wants to avoid spending more $$$, so that's the main point

Re: a little help guvna's

A party without alcohol isn't a party...it's a gathering.

Tru story.

Re: a little help guvna's

Maybe I'll just buy some pre-mixed sangria and add fresh live juice to make it taste homemade

Re: a little help guvna's

I dont drink at my kids bday parties, but if you are hosting and want to provide, in the past ive just provided beer, wine and very little liquor and it seems to fill the need for the guests.

If I were you, i think for the thirsty types, give them beer. much cheaper and less likely for it to get out of hand as quickly. I do have friends that serve liquor later on but thats more of an after party thing lol.

congrats on the little one turning one, someday we can all meet up for a kids rave or something haha

Re: a little help guvna's

Wine it is. Thanks for the perspective everyone. I haven't had liquor in years and my wife hardly drinks ever. 1 bottle of wine usually lasts us several months . We're pretty far out of the game.

Any recommendations on a good chilled inexpensive white wine?
