At around 1:30 am after drinks and puffs at a friend's place, I get a text from a club friend saying "I just want to let you know I'm thinking of you as I'm dancing to beats by Digger's at the Vagabond". Thanks a lot, I started feeling sorry for myself for not being there. Great way to end the night! Grrr. : )

It was incredible! The last hour was unreal. I don't have time right now, but I will share more later.. here is the [B]first 90 mins[/B] ... He had to switch mixers here, you can hear it all happen. The audio is pretty good I think.. for a phone recording anyway..I have a feeling they might ask me to take it down, but for now.. enjoy!

You can bring up the volume, the sound won't crack. It picked up way more of the crowd than I thought it would, but oh well..

As I suspected.. he asked to take it down, so I will respect that.

Maybe he can let us know when it will be okay to share .. more people need to hear this, it was amazing.

Anyways, I went to see Ben Klock on thursday[FONT=arial][SIZE=2][COLOR=#000000][B] , [/B][/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT]Richie Hawtin on Friday.. and yes, they are both very good, but honestly their sets were no where near what John did on Saturday, maybe its just my personal preference, but the way he builds his sets, the mixing.. all of it, its on a different level.

Last night was super cool because he came on and said that he will have to keep it shorter (until 5) but then I think someone from management came and talked to John, he saw that the crowd was having a great time and I think he told him to play a little longer... or at least that is what I got from the hand gestures :)

You can ... but if there's a request to take something down from the board from a member or one of the artists involved we respect that.

Requests come from different DJs .. who either don't like music leaked without their consent or would prefer poor quality representations of their work removed.

I suppose that after having put your all into a 5 hour set its a bummer the new music your playing thrown out there in fuzzy poor quality. Next thing people are ripping the files and sharing something without your input, consent or control of how your work is represented.

John surfs [ms] hence him spotting the extended clip.

I'm sure short vids of the night are ok.

man i was enjoying this, at least for people that been there before its good to get a feel what happened there this year...really needed this last hour cozi know thats when he hits them 90's heavy hitters...u shud upload it and post it under a different name, like sasha involv3er launch party or sth...to many of those to notice :lol:

@ 360p for a smaller file size, and I brought two batteries with me.

The whole point of this was to let people who couldn't go, get a feel for the night.. and of course for my personal enjoyment and memories from the night.

I did exactly that, just to test it out and see how it sounds.. extracted the audio track from the mp4 clip, and then converted it to MP3 using foobar. Played with the EQ in foobar and found this to be best

Exactly..I know its very different now with edm, but that sense of community must have been pretty cool back then.

I really liked the Transitions CD series ethos of representing what John has been playing every six months, with vol. 4 ending up a masterpiece.

Although Diggers' radio show gives us a good idea week in week out too :lol:

I don't think there is enough to fill 4 CDs ... with him having to change the mixer, and then telling us that he has to only play until 5., I think that might be an obstacle, but he put out an amazing 2cd release for sure..

Chill venue overall.. I really like it. No strict dress code, cool staff.. much better than the pretentious clubs over the bridge.

Yes, very talented.. but so is Hawtin, who I [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnTtPwMeWUc"]saw the previous night[/URL], and you can just tell that he is amazing behind the deck, but still...his set, at least to my ears, was almost boring compared to John's. The [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkxxTrfYZak"]night before [/URL]that I saw Ben Klock and he was very precise.. but again, nothing from his set stood out, which kind of makes for a not very memorable night.

With John's sets..they stay with you for a while..

Different strokes for different folks. Maybe you are more into the house/prog house sound than techno? John Digweed always seems to be in top form for his sets and always seems to play a great set. Last time I saw Ben Klock at a warehouse party it was wild. Something about a small warehouse venue, intense relentless techno, and a crowd that's completely into the music. Was just as good as a Digweed set for me, though very different. :)
