I had this cemented into my cd player for years when it came out, hadnt played it in a long time. I popped it in this morning. I always loved this mix, one of Digweeds underrated gems. It has a little bit of a Northern Exposure feel to it and just flows perfectly, just beautiful.

Ive always been of the mind that to truly capture Diggers, you need at least 2 cds if not 3 or 4...but he really got the point across in one cd on this album. In my opinion his best single cd mix.

If you havent heard it in a while, PLAY IT

Re: John Digweed MMII

LA is 12 years old, the world has changed since then. Dance Music has definitely changed.

Re: John Digweed MMII

listened to it at a shop when it came out sounded good...dark and deep (well the first track stuck in my mind anyway)..never got round to getting it though...had to youtube all the songs recently...

ridiculous how much things have changed and how quick that time went....going back to an old mix cd (especially the ones you love) really is like opening a time capsule of memories and emotions

Re: John Digweed MMII

Re: John Digweed MMII

I wasnt a fan of it back then. The Pollon track was good, but I didnt think it flowed that well really; the Mandalay track at the end didnt seem to fit in either. Was a very strange choice of release at the time I thought.

Re: John Digweed MMII

I am more a fan of his JDJ mix, as a single cd mix. But MMII is great! Must dig it out again :)

Fabric Mix? That's another story ;)

Re: John Digweed MMII

JDJ is from a different time, no light bulbs or radio, back then:). The Winning Ticket is also good (often forgot).

Fabric was him trying to do a lighter mix, I liked it.

Re: John Digweed MMII

I know that Bs.As is not a complete representation of the country, but the few times I've been there.. plenty of good looking girls :) By the way I've never heard MMII .. I guess its time to give it a listen.

I had a total MM11 throwback. Thanks! That was awesome. Now I'm listening to Airdrawndagger. Both brilliant!

Re: John Digweed MMII

I clearly remember the Feb 2001 launch party of GU LA in Twilo. Diggerz made an extra effort waiting at the exit on the street thanking everyone to come and signing autographs for people. Friend of mine walked up to him and asked him for a hug, he obliged. Great times :)
