Kind of cool that they didn't put Digweed on top in much larger font.

Re: Demf 2013

Because 60% of that list is better than him. Remember... this is a Techno festival :)

Re: Demf 2013

The weather was great on Saturday and Sunday, unfortunately Monday was quite rainy. It started about 3 and only let up occasionally. It was soaking by the time Digweed came on, which was personally disappointing. I managed to stay until 11. By that point the rain had made it through my jacket and sweatshirt, so I knew that was it for me. I can't blame anybody who left, it was really wet. The rain was blowing onto the very expoed stage. They rigged tarps over all the CDJs. Digweed and other DJs towelled themselves and their gear off multiple times. Digweed sounded great, deep and melodic, which was different from the previous performers, who were generally punchier and more techno-y, if that makes sense.

The Red Bull stage was a waste of time after 6 p.m. on most days. It was so loud that any techno set was just a vibration of bass with bom-bom-bom kick drum and changes between claps and high hats. Hawtin sounded just like Dubfire sounded like Dave Clarke... Disappointing.

The Underground stage was literally underground. Too much echo. I didn't enjoy anything down there.

So that was the bad.

The good: Carl Craig, 16 Bit Lolitas, Lucy, Benjamin Damage, Annie Hall, Soul Clap

The really good: Laura Jones, Matt Tolfrey, Maetrik, Art Department, The Bug.

The great: J. Phlip, Digweed, Cajmere, A Tribe Called Red, Dennis Ferrer.

These tracks were heard multiple times.

Breach: Jack Breach - Jack - YouTube

Juliano Silva - 1000 Miles

Carl Craig - Throw

I had a good time. It was my first time there and something I always wanted to see, and this year's lineup basically forced me to go, there were lots of great performers there. Except for the rain and the poor RBMA stage sound, no regrets.
