Re: Global Underground #028
Nice! When's the party or did it already happen?
Re: Global Underground #028
i saw it on a flyer for Twisted Melon's 3rd Birthday. 8)
Nick Warren is playing there on 11th June. GU album launch party
Re: Global Underground #028
The party in Shanghai was like 2 months ago if i remember correctly. It was posted on the GU board that it was an excellent nite. Nick always comes correct. I cant wait for this, but GU should find some new djs for their series
Re: Global Underground #028
the shanghai scene is supposed to be dope as hell right now.
Re: Global Underground #028
yes, i've heard there's lots going on in china.
Re: Global Underground #028
should be decent
Re: Global Underground #028
i'm sure nick pulled down some great music for this mix. look forward to it.
Re: Global Underground #028
another one?
Re: Global Underground #028
That puts him at six now if you are right about #28, this would mean he is the most decorated man on the GU cover...
So looking forward to this one too.
Re: Global Underground #028
if this is anything that he displayed in Toronto just recently this is going to rock...but then again you can't go wrong with a GU done by Nick Warren
Re: Global Underground #028
isnt he already? who else did 5? seaman? :?
Re: Global Underground #028
Christ...
I dig some of Nick?s GU?s, but I really thought that #027 would be the start of a sort of "new generation" of GU?s, giving opportunities to other people.
Re: Global Underground #028
Can't wait to see the TL for this. Knowing Nicks past mixes, won't recognise anything. Excellanty.
Think I'm more interested in Balance 007 though. Looks like something special...

i kinda hoped the same, although that was Howells' 3rd GU release, after nubreed and 24/7
time for another 24/7 imo 8)
Re: Global Underground #028
i hope it is as good as amsterdam's.
Re: Global Underground #028
They're still making this series?
Re: Global Underground #028
They're still making this series?
That is what I was thinking. The GU comps are so overrated. Most of there newer comps are arful. All I have to say is anyone that lets James Lavelle do 2 comps for them are missing something. The Gu seriously needs to get some new dj to do there mixes. How many times are you going to have the same damn dj do a mix for you. What about having Lee Burridge do another GU or some of these great up and coming djs do a mix for GU. That would make the GU series worth getting instead of buying a mix from the same 5 or 6 djs. I admit I bought the Danny Howells GU:Miami and it is really good. But as for GU 28, I could care less about. I am sure it is going to the same old boring stuff from nick warren.
Re: Global Underground #028
you have to keep in mind, perhaps unfortunately, that GU caters to the masses, and just because (we) want to see all these djs that "the masses" have probably not heard of do a mix, "the masses" want djs like nick warren. i am not entirely excited about this mix, but i'm sure it wont be bad... just probably nothing to get carried away about. i could care less about the GU series, as i've said a number of times, all i want is a new 24/7 :x
Re: Global Underground #028
Oh boy another crap cd.
Re: Global Underground #028
Oh boy another crap cd.
nothing nick warren does is crap. it may not be your thing, but his work is always of the highest quality. though it would have been nice to hear someone fresh doing 28. danny was a great change for 27. nick must sell well for them to keep having him do these comps. guaranteed great mix nonetheless.
Re: Global Underground #028
sometimes it is better to re-visit the old and the familiar places, i know with warren u guaranteed a quality mix. looking forward to the new GU # 28.
and for all the new dj's what happened to GU NUbreed? I thought that is the direction they going to go for new and promissing DJ's, but I have not seen anything in two years.

I agree to bring back NuBreed. Let's get some fresh DJs in the mix. Not sure if the new owners or partners of GU want to risk money on that venture.
Leave the GU series to the established DJs like Nick Warren, Sasha, and Howells.

Fate has not been kind to me Hos. However I shall organise my ticket, and i will be there. :D
Re: Global Underground #028
That is a sick looking cover. Probably the most artistic one yet.
Say what you want, yes I wish GU would let some new DJs release albums, but Nick Warren always brings it. I just think the whole "the last one was my final mix CD" thing looks pretty lame now. Keep making mixes, don't do this on again, off again crap. Either way, should be a nice addition to the already extensive Nick Warren catalog...and I love them all.
Re: Global Underground #028
Just heard that Nick's coming to Tel Aviv on 21st April as part of the GU promotion tour. . . . . . . . . . . :CandyPop:

I doubt even Nick would do two on the trot! Maybe you mean #28?
Re: Global Underground #028
Reikjiavik was excellent, will see what 28 brings out. Although I do remember some interviews with Nick where he indicated that he doesn't want to work on compilations anymore. Looks like he changed his mind.
