Since when did JD get into his vocal tracks so much?
I can't really comment on anything new but, I'm not really a huge fan of this to be honest. Cannot say this is the best mix I've heard by JD, but obviously one of the better releases as a CD. Obviously this CD will grow on me especially 1 & 2, but until then I personally do think it's just another bulk standard JD release - close to perfection.
Really dwelling into the programming/sequencing as expected it is brilliantly done even god's cannot master this, but I do think track selection was what that was not doing it for me. Surprisingly just lacked a little continuity.
I personally think if I look back at 2012 - Renaisance Masters by Hernan would be my pick for a mix CD followed closely by Weatherall's Masters.
But this is just my opinion.
Thanks killjoy I just bought it...still yet to check out the others.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
3rd post...you were all expecting it...there is a transitions app on google play..a few days old...streams EBWTBTDJ's sc.

"The Bedrock party in London was amazing and there were no plans to release the mix when i went into the party, but when i listened back to the recording it made total sense to release this album for the fans. I took four separate sections from the night to make sure the 4xCD package gives you a full experience from the night." I am still amazed that he didn't go into it knowing that they might do this...
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
at least that is cleared up, everyone kept saying it was the first four hours and sounds like that is not the case.

Makes more sense, doesn't it? Been watching some videos from the night, and I reckon this dreamy tune may well lie in between CDs 3 and 4:
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
i like disk 3 much more now. it really picks up at track 6.
Since when did JD get into his vocal tracks so much?
I remember being surprised by the number of vocal tracks too, but I remember his early Northern Exposure, Renaissance days, even the early 2000s of deep/dark prog phase, he liked his vocal tracks.
I think the vocals on this come as a surprise because we haven't heard him drop this kinda housey vocals on his Kiss shows or any other sets in a while.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
Not common, but I like the selection that he made with the vocal tracks.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
In that interview for soundwall he says "I just play records that I like the sound of, so I think this album reflects my tastes in music" So I guess, like feather already pointed out, he likes vocals..
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
got it. it is pretty much where digweed is at in this point of time.no complaints from me..can't pick a favorite disc yet, but I had no issues with disc 1.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
People! Whatever you do, just keep in mind that Digweed "is famously from Hastings".
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
that's up north near Berlin isn't it?
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
Exactly. Berlin, Alaska.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

This transition is just genius. You wonder how it is possible to do something so perfect.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
I saw and heard John's another amazing live mix last Friday. You won't believe but it was even better then Live in London. Can't wait for the Bedrock Night.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
^^^ What! Aaaaaaah no way!
I am so jealous of the peeps going to Bedrock.... Lets just hope JD releases a ton of live mixes like he did last year.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
That's a nice picture.
Digweed playing at Output in Brooklyn NY this weekend. They purportedly have a Funktion One system. I keep missing out on the online ticket sales. :(
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
last Friday's photo. John and his agent Ian arranged a guest list for me and my friends and surely we took up the offer :rockhard:

Maybe you can still get tickets at the door if you go ..? I've never heard a Funktion one system.. I wish the vagabond would upgrade theirs, it didn't sound very good when I went last year.
^ coool,,,serious dedication for cd2 there
lol I do enjoy cd2..all 4 are good tho, I can't really pick a "favorite" ..

Saw Diggers at Beta in Denver last year. Funktion One system is serious. Super clean sound; you could have a conversation standing next to a speaker and hear every word.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
CD2. over and over and over again...
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
i don't blame you
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
Who else is still rocking this??
a few tunes sprinkled here and there that i don't like, but overall this thing bangs and still sounds fresh, release of the year! lets just hope he does the same with this years Vagabond, hint hint ;)
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
I am so rocking this... gosh... its now the only album that I have on my iPhone. I have to admit though that I haven't completely given Disk 4 a proper go as I never seem to get enough of the first 3.

I am. CDs 1 and 2 are the ones for me. The Jozif tracks/mixes on CD1 are brilliant, but the highlight for me is CD2 Jemmy into the two mixes of that Mohn track. You could lose your mind on that section alone
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
i need to go back to this. ive been listening to the jozif balance and the new sasha.
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
i just bought this for my trip to atlanta last weekend... i've made it through 3 discs. wonderful so far!
Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
I'm back caning CD 1, after spells with the other 3 CDs... the mix from Kontakt to Nobody is utterly magical (all kinds of Hoff-type imagery come to mind).
