before people jump on me about this one, i'm not new and i know how to burn with cuesheets. or at least i did before when i was using windows 98. but i get errors now when i try it on windows XO. i know you save it on notepad with the .txt then change it to the .cue extension. i know the first line of the cue sheet and file name of the cuesheet and the mp3 file all have to match. i know both files have to be in the same folder and i have to go to burn image in nero. so what the hell is wrong? is there another step i have to do with XP?

windows XP and Nero and cuesheets
The errors you are getting might come in handy? Kinda hard to diagnose without the symptoms right?
Have you thought about using another program? I heard Nero can handle cuesheets but isn't the best for it. I prefer to use CDRwin and it loads cuesheets fine.
for me nero works just fine with cue sheets...
my problem is that after I'm done burning and everything looks fine I still can't seem to find any info on the cd... like there is nothing on there or whatever... :(
maybe cdrwin?
Well i use cdrwin it owns nero for cues and bins
Please post the cuesheet here and tell us what message you get back from Nero. We need more infos to help you.
I use cuesheets and Nero.
I find that if the file is long (i.e. a 70 minute one file mix) and you load it up in Nero it looks like Nero is crashing (just sits there). This is normal and after a couple of minutes it will start right up and burn OK.
Don't know if that is your exact problem, but I've had people tell me it's not working when really they aren't waiting long enough.
:Bingo:
what's the lenght of the mp3 file? what version of nero are you using?
I use nero 6, and have no problem burning with cues on Win XP. I use to burn to a image first, then i burn that image to cd (and use the same image to transfer to my minidisc) :)

Exactly.
My advice. Use Alchohol 120% to burn any type of image, cue files included. Its the best of any program I've used to burn cue, img, iso, and any other image file. I use Nero for creating compilations and backing things up.

Works the same way for me. I have never had a failure using Nero 6 while burning cue's or any image file.
When you use the new version of NERO the application take about a minute before it can examine the file structure. Also, i would recomend reducing the burn speed if you use a high speed burner to prevent overun buffer errors.
When you queue up a cue in Nero, it takes a minute or so, depending on your computer, to load the cuesheet. then it works perfectly.
How do cue sheets work and what are they for? I see alot of talk about them.

i have no problems with nero 6 and win xp
Nero has not given me any problems so far..
win xp + nero v.5 + cuesheets = :Bingo:
thanks to everyone that responded first off. i know the cuesheets take a minute or two to load. that's not the problem. here's the cuesheet. the error i'm getting is that when the cuesheet loads and everything is ready to go and i hit "write". i get the "waiting for medium" error. it says medium type in the recorder is empty. i can burn fine without the cuesheets. but for some reason when i load the cuesheet the cd-r drive doesn't read the blank cd inside. Nothing wrong with that cue sheet as far as i can see :NotMe:
does anyone know why the burner doens't read the blank cd when i load the cuesheet??
