Hi there
Anyone ever seen The Crystal Method do a dj set, and, if so what was your opinion. I've seen them live, and that rocked hard.

They definitely have more energy in their live sets. I've seen them do DJ sets twice, and while they weren't bad, the performances weren't exactly memorable.
I have seen them twice also. Do yourself a favor and don't bother. The horrible as DJs.
Get Busy Child
i've seen them once here in atlanta and have had friends that have seen them a bunch... if they are just mixing songs in a normal dj set, then don't bother going. they really aren't that good.

Exactly. Unless you just love the sound of trainwrecks during each transition.
But the question is their mixing worse then James Lavelle mixing?
seen the DJ set 2 times and they SUCK!!!!!!!!! Live sets are much beter

they pretty much suck as dj's.
i saw them play a live performance set, then a dj set. in the middle was barry ashworth, he fuckin tore the roof off at spundae 2 years ago.
Like everyone else has said, they're pretty awful as dj's, but I thought Community Service (their mixed cd) wasn't that bad, if a bit headed towards the mainstream.
Their live act though, is something to be seen. So much energy onstage, but to be quite honest I haven't seen them perform live since 1998.
bummer. i've already got my winter breaks ticket, where the method are dj'ing. at least q-bert & drummatic twins should provide some entertainment...
much better in an intimate setting . not dj's for big rooms, but they can rock a small venue.
Horrible Dj's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the worst trainwreck that I've heard in my 6 years of clubbing comes from these guys. So bad where.. i dont call it a trainwreck anymore.. its a crystal method!
their live stuff is good but I wouldnt touch another one of there dj events with a 40 ft pole.

The question remains
I forgot to add.. not only did their mixing suck.. but they kept on getting on the mic shouting and chanting like they were the shit...very weak!
i've seen them 3 times...first time i saw them was when they released Vegas, which by the way is still their greatest work, live pa was great...but the two times i caught them they dj'ed and it wasn't all spectacular

 Thats funny shit^^^^^
As for Lavelle never saw him live but heard his sets and i must say CM might be worse
On a DJ suckage scale of 1-10, 1 being DJ Rap and 10 being John Creamer, they are at 0, DJ Rap can actually beat match.
lol.. i guess its unanimous then :)
thanks
while they are quite amazing live, their DJ sets are horrible...
saw them as they opened for Digweed in Chicago: DJ set and saw them as the main event live and couldn't believe that these are the same people.

She's now playing house out here in chicago, tracks that are dated, doesn't move me, before that I saw her lay down a breaks mix, once again, dated/old tracks, no creativity. I respect her alot for what she's done, and know somewhere in there there is talent, she rocked back in the day.
Definitely wouldn't see a DJ set
I don't even know if I would see them Live anymore...Legion of Boom sucked the ass of the goat god.

How many of James Lavelle's mixes have you heard? I think you don't know what you're talking about :TNF:
