favorite sets: Olivier Berge who opened for pig and dan Clive Henry who opened for Lawler.

both were dark and dirty. i was only able to recognize a couple tracks from henry's set and none from Berge's. Berge was also the biggest suprise as i had never heard of him prior to that night. If anyone knows anything about him, please share.

disapointement: The Saw Party was CANCELLED! But other then that, Desyns at the bedrock party was the most disapointing - im not sure what happend but the music cut out twice, digweed even kind of pointed at him when it happend. his set didnt seem to go anywhere, and luke fair stole the show with out a doubt. Jimmy van m didnt show.

hotel story: getting kicked out our hotel for smoking a blunt only to get it back an hour later and also have our drinks comped at the hotel bar for the rest of the trip.

favorite club - state although it was hot as hell inside, there was a good vibe and great sound.. although space is pretty cool, esp being on the terrace at 7am.

Hey man...glad you liked the set. Though I just want to point out that the sound issues were not Desyn's fault at all. I had the sound cut out twice when I opened and the monitors would cut in and out all night. Also, one my cds that he was to mix out of must have been scratched and died in the cd player and stopped the music completely. Unfortunately he was the one standing up there when it happened.

thanks for clearing that up - i wasnt sure what to think as it happend twice in a matter of like 20 minutes or so. I didnt get there until mazi was finishing up. Shit happens. It was pretty cool how john was hanging out on the street by the door and greeted us when we came in.

The only downside to the whole evening was the fact that it was hotter than hell in The Marlin. I ended up dipping right before Three went on because I couldn't breathe. Thank god I got to see Damian's set though. Abso-fucking-lutely [b]AMAZING[/b]. As he walked through the crowd on his way out I had to stop him and tell him that I thought it was far-and-away one of the best sets I've EVER heard. He threw down some of the most evil, twisted tracks I've heard and the man was just brilliant with his mixes and effects. The whole night was incredible and Mazi deserves some proper respect for his set as well.

Other than that my highlights include seeing Nic Fanciulli at the LMR Party (along with [ms]ers: neoee, jibgolly, code11, picklemonkey, djmatthew, evangelion) on Thursday and dancing my fuggin ass off in front of the booth for his entire set. What an amazing talent he is. I implore all of you to check him out if you're lucky enough to have him appear within 500 miles of you. Truely brilliant. The Spleen Records party thrown by Mehmet was a wonderful time as well and had one of the best lineups of the conference (Bill Patrick, Desyn, Ozgur Can, Barish Turker, Dan Berkson, Dr Kucho, etc etc etc) not to mention the fact that it turned out to be the 2nd offical unofficial [ms] meetup (me, chuckc, remoh, rubyraks, picklemonkey, ftc, code11, holy shit I'm drawing a blank). Anyway, someone out there has pics of the event.

Last but not least, Sasha & Digweed. :shock: The only thing I could've wished for was that it had been in a better venue. Hell, it could've been in Abu Ghraib and it would've been a better venue. But what a helluva show!

Well, I will post pictures and video later but I have to go get something to eat for the 2nd time since last Wednesday.

Im still recovering... HUGE thanks to all that made it out to the frisky party on Sat. Great meeting rubyraks there! It was good to see Kevin Shiu, Steve Porter and Kramer at out party too! Good meeting everyone that came out! Jondi and Spesh played an extra long 5+ hour set at our party and we literally had the party stoped at around 5am...

The entire party was recorded and will be played on friskyRadio soon... Stay tuned for deets on that...

The highlight for me was the Radio1 party on friday... I had a wicked time time there!!! I was there from 11am to around 6 pm hanging out in the back area... the vibe at nikki beach is just amazing.

Dude, I got so much fucking video and pictures that I will post. The shittiest part I thought was when the power at crobar went out during infusions set...they almost refused to go on. But, then they did, and it fucking rocked.

And Infected Mushroom was a personal favorite of mine...but then again, i am a goa head too.

it was good meeting everybody! skahound, jibgolly, rubyraks, remoh, code11, neoee, evangelion, shawna, Localizer, ubiqe, matt, ftc, chuckc... am I missing anybody else? a little disappointed I didn't get to see Jenks, but he was probably avoiding me anyways. :lol:

ska, hope I wasn't too much for ya. also hope the coughing didn't keep you awake. :? it was definitely a good time though.

Hallucination was great. Looooots of great, dark twisted music was played... and even better, it was across the street from our hotel. I went to the hotel to sleep for 3 hours, then showed back up at the party at 8am and it was still going strong. Ran into Fortier at about 10am and he said he was way too drunk/tired to play at his gig at 3pm later that day.

Wanted to check Menace to Sobriety out for the Lowend Specialists, but found out that it was cancelled. Pretty shitty, considering Fortier wasn't playing that day either. Ended up heading to the beach for a day of fun in the sun before checking the Proton party for a bit, and finally ended up at the LMR Records party with Sander, Fanciulli, Dekay, Hamel, & Jamieson. Hamel and Fanciulli rocked it, and Sander was good until the last half of his set where he started playing bad 80's shit... was probably getting it ready for Dekay, and I wasn't about to stay for that shit so I kicked out of there just before he came on.

Wanted to check the BBC Radio 1 Nikki Beach party pretty bad... but it was a huge lineup and a free party, so the line was fucking INSANE. Rubyraks said he waited in line for something like 2 hours and expected at least another hour to get in. Ska and I definitely didn't want to do that, so we headed around back to check the party, caught a cab back to the hotel, and waved at ruby as he was walking down the street away from the party. sucker! :lol:

Went to Porterhouse for a little while, but had to jump out of there pretty quick. Whoever was opening the party was playing some horrible retro crap. We booked out of there and went to Loaded where the music was muuuuch, much better.

Stopped by the frisky party for a bit, and it was cool. not many people were there when we stopped by, but the music was definitely good. Wish I knew what DJ was playing when we showed, he must've been the first or second one on the lineup.

The Spleen Records party was awesome. Went there with ska & Matt, chilled for a bit, and Matt and I decided we needed some liquor. Went to the liquor store and bought a gallon(?) of pre-made jose cuervo Margarita mix, stopped by the hotel and drank some, filled my gatorade bottle with margarita and booked it back to the hotel to meet up with the rest of the gang. I got to the party and was being told I couldn't get in with my gatorade bottle, so I started chugging. then ftc appeared and we chatted for a few mins, and I was finally let in... after drinking practically all but 3 drinks of that gatorade bottle of margarita. :lol: would've been nice to not have chugged it first, but it's all good. i was planning on drinking it regardless.

The AA Arena party was great. Hernan was spinning with Zabiela doing effects during the whole set. The music was awesome. Unkle/Lavelle came on, and fucking sucked. The music sucked, and I don't think I even heard any mixing. He just plain blew. FUCKING HORRIBLE! You can't really put words to a set like that. :Puke Pon: After that Sasha & Digweed came on, the party was bumping all night. About 15-30 minutes before the party ended it started to get pretty trancey, but it was a good night. Too many fucking e-tards, though. saw a few people handcuffed & escorted, and at one point was playing tug-of-war with an e-tard and his glowstick so I could chuck it across the arena, but I eventually gave up, and he left so the mission was accomplished there :lol:

next year I'm definitely going to hit up a liquor store every day I'm there and not even try to buy drinks at the bar. learned a few hard lessons at nearly every bar I went to with the $9/$10 drinks everywhere! fuck that.

good times, good times. see everyone there again next year.

my highlight was the underwater party at crobar with darren emerson. i saw pig & dan at bed, lawler at state, desyn at space, nic and john d at pawn shop, behrouz, mazi & tripwire at teasers just to name a few.... but, once again, emerson OWNED the conference for me the 2nd time in a row. i'm talkin' dark, evil, twisted, distorted and nasty tech-house that just blew me the fuck away. better than lawler at lights out imo... holy mother of god!
