I need a new pair of headphones, but the spec I am looking for is not included typically in ratings. My desk is next to my wifes, and when I listen to music with my current set, the sound that she can hear drives her nuts. I can relate, as I hate over hearing the tinny sound of others using head phones. Has anyone come across a good pair that sound good to the listener, but don't emit much noise to those sitting close by? IE, reverse noise cancellation, :p

Special Headphone request
Re: Special Headphone request
in ear or over the ear?
I'm sure there are headphones available within minimum leakage. depends on how loud you have it.

Re: Special Headphone request
Over the ear for working at home. I have a pair of buds that minimize leakage pretty well, but they get uncomfortable after about an hour or two.
Re: Special Headphone request

Re: Special Headphone request
^ If she didn't often sit at her desk in her undies, I'd think about it.
Re: Special Headphone request
Sounds like you have a pair of open headphones. Those usually have an airier, much wider soundstage.
What you want to search for is closed.
Over the ear closed headphones.
Re: Special Headphone request
^ thats it!! sennheiser has some good closed over the ear headphones. Kinda djs use. They are not very comfortable for "long" periods of using, but they'll do what your wife wants to ;)

Re: Special Headphone request
Yeah, I had a pair of Seinheiser's that I "borrowed" from work for a while, those worked well. I'll have to look into another pair. Thanks!
Re: Special Headphone request
Get some custom fitted in ear canalphones, nothing is escaping those and you get awesome sound too...
Or what about stock Apple earbuds, I never hear any leakage whenever other people have them????

I absolutely detest apple's stock earbuds. Horrible sound and uncomfortable.
Home listening headphones convo starts and ends with Audio Technica and Sennheiser.

Re: Special Headphone request
Sennheiser all the way. Owed a nice pair which worked equally well with my portable audio amp. Brilliant sound.
Re: Special Headphone request
Those new ones look really premium and sweet, so's the price tag: $350
