:Yahoo:Last night for the first time in almost 5 years I ate chicken. My wife and I went to a really nice restaurant and I figured it was the right time and place, especially since the chicken was light, free range, etc. I opted for the Ceasar Salad and the chicken was real light, cut into really thin small pieces. The flavor was good but definitely different from what I had gotten used to. My stomach feels a little weird but overall I feel great. It's cool because I could use the extra calories now that I have a 4 month old boy I take care of most of the day when I'm not working.

Glad I got over it finally...not eating meat for nearly 5 years served it's purpose, but the season for that has finally ended. I plan on sticking mostly to chicken though, and maybe turkey.

I tried it for 30 days once and liked how I felt, so I just kept going.

 It's meat (flesh) when you haven't had any animals in nearly 5 years. But I know what you are saying. My grandfather and uncles own a large commercial dairy/beef cattle operation in S. Florida.

Re: I did it...

So did your body feel much better on a vegetarian diet? I've always wondered what it's like to give up meat.

I got sick a whole lot less... it's hard to explain how it feels, but for me I had more energy and was more alert. I don't plan on eating much meat now, maybe 1 - 2 times per week. Because yes, overall I feel better.

ditto, it's hard enough quitting having a nice wine with dinner but to turn my plate into a garden abloom, well then might as well wear a saffron cloth and run away into the forest.

Re: I did it...

what about veggie induced excess flatulence? I heard being veggie bumps up your methane contribution by 10 fold.
