ScanEye Knows What You’ve Been Torrenting, Is a Good Reminder to Beef Up Your Privacy

think you've been pretty careful with your BitTorrent activity? Think again. ScanEye is a new site that creepily knows what you've downloaded on BitTorrent and shows it to you shows, and it's a good reminder to keep your activities private. ScanEye is very similar to previously mentioned You Have Downloaded, which is no longer around: it just scans your IP address against its database of torrents, and spits out a list of your recently downloaded files. It may not be 100% accurate, especially if you have a dynamic IP address, but it's pretty freaky to see what it comes up with, and reminds us all that our torrenting is very, very public. If you use BitTorrent, make sure you're using a good VPN serviceor a proxy like BTGuard to keep your activities private.
 http://www.mypiracy.net/index.php

Re: still torrenting ?

LOL, I can see what other people have downloaded with my IP address before I had it. Some questionable tastes.

Canada actually did a pretty good job of stopping piracy; by allowing a duopoly the internet here is so slow and expensive that it is cheaper and quicker to just buy most things. Or even get someone in Sweden to download it and post it to you.

Re: still torrenting ?

So sad that Demonoid is gone. It was a good, well categorised site and a good community. I'm still torrenting my TV shows.

Re: still torrenting ?

Friend told me about that, can't believe how cheap it is. I might explore that once I get my own place.

Re: still torrenting ?

there's also this website, but you have to get an invite code now (was completely available to whoever). if you do get a code, it's a great website that has nicely organized all the free content on youtube, and it's really vast.
