Hey guys... I'm planning to head over to San Fran and New York in late November this year! Never been there before.
Any suggestions on hotels to stay and things to do in San Fran? Likewise for NYC.

welcome to cali, hope you make it to the redwood forest, the beach, and southern california too.
Re: My first US visit
go to the piers. x2 on ruby sky (see who's playing). also, give a visit to china town?
also, make sure you don't accidentally pack any of y'alls spiders in your suitcase. we don't need that stuff here.

Thanks man! What's some cool places in Southern Cali? The "touristy" thing to do is LA and Hollywood but not sure about that. Any suggestions? Flights land in LAX so while the majority of my trip is based around NYC it makes sense to explore a bit of the west coast.

This airbnb site is amazing! Some unbelievable places to stay at great prices! How safe is it to use and any suggestions on "safe" areas to stay?
Re: My first US visit
+1 for airbnb, LA is full of stuff to do, I wouldn't know where to start tbh, but google your ideas and interests I'm sure you'll find some cool stuff. Roaming the hills of Malibu would be fun. I can get you a list of underground ish type house clubs if you want.
I'll send you a PM about San Fran.
Re: My first US visit
haight st in san fran is cool to checkout for a day. really good seafood at the crab house on the wharf. we rented a car and drove over the golden gate bridge up into the hills which was pretty cool. as far as new york, bleeker st. was also cool to check out. lots of street markets.
Re: My first US visit
Thanks floridaorange and Bender420! Appreciate the suggestions.
Can't wait to go... being the first time it's going to be an experience for sure :)
Re: My first US visit

I used it only twice, but I heard it´s very safe. You can read opinions/comments in every place posted there. I had no problem at all, it was fine and cheaper than any hotel.
Re: My first US visit
Couple things worth mentioning for SF. Rent a bike down by the wharf, and travel across the Golden Gate Bridge, over to Sausalito. Small little town worth checking out. You can take a ferry ride back across into SF, which is pretty nice as well. Keep in mind, temperature changes can vary drastically either side of the bridge. So if it's not so warm on the SF side, it can be the difference of 20F on the Sausalito side. This place here is worth mentioning. http://ilikeikesplace.com/ . Often times, i think of returning just for this place, and its sandwich's. I pulled down the menage a trois. Simply amazing. And our breakfast stop was Sears http://www.searsfinefood.com/ Another great choice for some good food.
Re: My first US visit
If you get a chance swing by Vegas and PM if you do.

Will it snow late November, early December?
Re: My first US visit
possibly
Re: My first US visit
Most likely heading to Vegas and LA as well
Re: My first US visit
FOLEY's in SF is always highly recommended... I think a block away from Ruby Skye... duelling piano's Friday/Saturday until 2:00am in case you get bored of Ruby Skye :)
Re: My first US visit
I'm sorry, but, Ruby Skye is a terrible terrible place. There are so many better venues in the city to check out before ending up at that shit hole. Try Mighty, EndUp, Beatbox, PublicWorks, 222, Monarch, Monroe (in no particular order). I can guarantee you that the music and the crowd at any of those places will be far superior than that of Ruby Skye.
Re: My first US visit
^What about Vessel?
Re: My first US visit
Vessel, I've only been once to see Cassy... interesting place... there was a private party before, so some of the squares stayed afterward and mingled with the heads... then there were all the Financial District types just schmoozing about. I'd imagine it was one of them who flooded the bathroom, which cut short Cassy after only 45 minutes of playing, as we had to all leave the building.
Re: My first US visit
if you want a little bit of jazz, don´t forget to go to the "Village Vanguard" jazz club. You´ll love it
Re: My first US visit
interesting place...
sounds about right, the person who recommended it to me is an interesting person
Re: My first US visit
Honestly almost all of the clubs mentioned above in Sf have terrible nights. you just got to figure out which promoter is throwing their party that night.
Though there are clubs like "Ruby skye" that are atrocious , I mean the music , the crowd and the vibe is just terrible. I dunno about you but i just can't stand clubs with gogodancers anymore specially if they are male gogodancers :/ or shirtless douchebags walking all over the place. When dj pauly LOL from the jersey shore came here to "play" he played at ruby sky and the place was packed , if that tells you anything. I haven't been to ruby skye in years . Supperclub falls into this same category.
"222 hyde" is a techno bar for the most part with a basement that has a dance floor . The owner has made some changes which according to some of my friends this is the place to be specially on tuesdays. I like this bar a lot .
"Icon" is a more intimate club it has a night on wednesdays called "Housepitality" they play some really interesting deep house and bring some big headliners as surprised guest djs that are just passing by Sf.
"Vessel" i would recomend checking it out ONLY on thrusdays which has a pretty decent night called BASE other nights is just like ruby skye but in a smaller scale. The dance floor gets kindda messy just because there are way too many people walking by but the drinks and fit birds make up for it :D.
"Mighty", "Beatbox" and "Monarch" on fridays are amazing .... these 3 have a more underground feeling to it , the latter is my fav one :)
"Public works" use to be sick but the club owners have made too many changes to the club now it has been divided in 2 ambients . Still is a good place to party on saturdays.
After hours clubs
"The end up " thats where you can get lost in the oblivion on saturdays  " Monroe " early sundays are great
Finally on Sunday night Otis lounge has a party called "WERD" which is nice to just chill before starting your week.
Re: My first US visit
the clift's bar is pretty chill I thought, but not somewhere you'd want to hang out for very long. Speaking of SF, has anyone been to the hotel that turned it's pool into a lagoon and has a pirate ship and rain storms and shit? Sounds cheesy of course, but it's supposed to be older not like a new Rainforest Cafe
Re: My first US visit
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Any thoughts on NYC? Ideally something in Manhattan and pretty chilled out.
Re: My first US visit
Also, any hotel suggestions? I'm thinking of staying the meatpacking district. The Standard is too pricey but on the short list so far is Hotel Gansevoort (mixed reviews) and the Desmond Tutu Center (good reviews but not sure about it)
