Hey mods, not sure if this is the right forum to post in, but I figured that this would get the most views...

Question is does anyone how the best tool to use to rip audio from http://www.be-at.tv/ There is a very tasty set posted by Tommy Four Seven that I would love to get my hands on.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

I have Audio Hijack Pro and it works very well for recording from Safari and Mozilla + audio input (for old cassette tapes).

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

^^^ Btw I use Audio Hijack Pro as well . It's really easy. Basically if you can hear it, you can rip it! But Audio Hijack would probably be all you need.

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

That's recording from your audio controller, ripping the stream is sometimes really complicated. But if you can't, just record the thing!
Sounds promising DIDI 8)
I have recorded it , it sounds ok but definitely quieter. I'll upload and give you a link. Do what you will with it

I tend to treat recording music the way I used to treat photography. Record/shoot in the best possible way so you don't have to fiddle too much with the original. I'm talking actual film/darkroom days not digital.:)

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

BTW is Audio Hijack Pro a free program or..........................................??

Edit: Free for MAC only

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

It's not free for us either . It's actually quite expensive.!! The trial is free ! I hate when they do that !! But it is one of those really excellent Mac apps that are as simple or as complicated as you want. I had a bit of a play with it yesterday and it works incredibly well.

Seems like only Mac people want to answer though

Dusk , If those links aren't the set from Be-at you want I can record it for you, but I have always found be-at to be pretty bad quality.

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

I paid for my Pro version (Mac) and am very happy with it, even though its only used every so often !

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

There are many well known tools for Win, WM Recorder (shareware) and Orbit are the ones I use and, along with JDownloader (that can catch "streams" when they're not real streams (Youtube, Soundcloud, Mixcloud too but it got more complicated) they cover it all. The latter two apps are free.

The fact is that there are well-protected streams, complex scripts manage to hide the actual music (see Garry's link, or Radio 1). Gifted people can by-pass those but it's beyond my skills.

As for RECORDING from your soundcard (what your Mac app does), there's Total Recorder, trusted but not free. I don't remember if Audacity can do recordings too but I bet there are many free alternatives.

Re: Ripping Audio from Video Site.

^^^ I'm actually a real cheapskate , if I pay for something it has to be bloody good
Audacity can do recordings too .
I tried Audacity mate but the quality was terrible. Not sure if i had it set up properly but i prefer to leave these things to people that know what they are doing

BTW DIDI, the quality on that recording if fine. 8)
