Re: "Anyone can play big hits and get a reaction"
Urgh Avalon Singapore sucked balls but glad to say the man still got it. I hadn't expected much cos the live sets of his I've heard, eg. Circus, hasn't left much impression.
But damn, he opened with a really cruisy and easy-listening track and by track 3 it was into the rabbit hole. Deep and hypnotic, all the classic Digweed sounds, not very minimal at all. There were some tracks that sounded a bit plodding but I blame it on the sound system.
So the bad bits. Let down by the club, the sound, the crowd. This was the first and only Digweed gig I've been to where he played LESS THAN 3 HOURS. When he came on, the club had two dancers come on stage gyrating away like tranvestites hookers. Mid way into the set, the bouncers let some fucktards onto the stage where they sprayed two bottles of champagne on to us, douched around for a bit, and left. So most of us upfront got champagne on us, the floor was slick and soon stank of champagne. Toward the end of his set, the floor was already half empty which was a serious let down and Digweed was talking to the management and pointing at stuff, I think something was seriously distracting him or pissing him off
We heard

which you really gotta hear on a club system cos it just sounds weird on the computer speakers.
and he ended with

Will try to update more IDs if my friend finds them
