now on the other hand Cameo for the Bedrock party was outstanding. Sound system was great, backroom not so much but at least you can hear the music. I think [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=500"]henry Saiz[/url]'s sound would translate better in the main room, but i degress. I think it was the highlight of my conference.

it wasnt that bad as far as temp, i mean it was hot because it was shoulder to shoulder for awhile but there was space in the back to get some air, they might have installed a fan or two. ill never go back there either.

Digweed's Vagabond party was out of this world.. simply amazing! 6+ hour set 8) we left at around 7 am. I don't think any other DJ can put together a live set like he does.. I will upload some vids when i get a chance.
Hernan was there as well.. he didn't play, but I saw him at the bar.. really cool guy.
Bedrock's party @ Cameo was good as well.. but Cameo's dance floor sucks! I really liked Hernan's set :) Here is a short vid.. i think this is at the start of Digweed's set. Sorry about the sound quality, it seems that my phone can't handle the high decibels..

Nick and Cattaneo's party @ Mynt was good, but I felt like the crowd wasn't really there for the music, but just because its "cool" to be there.
Anyway.. Digweed's party made my trip. Phenomenal. I hope he puts an hour or two from the set out at some point..

loved Guy J's set, i wouldve been happy had he stayed on all night. playing all of the bedrock prog goodness. Cattaneo, maybe kinda bored me a bit.
and yeah Saiz got the backroom for 2 hours. Did him no justice being back there for that short of time.
oh and ive been to some nice clubs but have never been charged $35 for 2 shots before, not even vegas,lol.

Cans of heineken are $10 each in Sobe during WMC. Never ever buy drinks at the clubs, that's for suckers. Buy booze at the liquor stores on every corner and sneak in.

I remember that same thing happening to me...thoght i misheard what he was saying...I always try to predrink as much as possible before heading to the club...that way i only need one or two more drinks at the club.
there are too over the top with the prices though...35 bux for 2 shots is really ridiculous.

The Shelborne was selling $25.00 cheese burgers and I don't remember how much the drinks were... it was a lot.
Cameo set was AMAZING!!! [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=94"]Guy J[/URL] fooking rocked!! Hernan always delivers, John was on point! The Boat Party was great as well!!! Vagabond was awesome...I don't think Digweed likes me taking pics of him there. He shone the flashlight right at me and shook his head, SO... I didn't take any videos or any pics of him. I bailed at around 6 cause I couldn't take the stench of the cigarette smoke, I almost puked 5 times.... as usual that is when he turned it on and opened up the Vortex. At one point he was up on the cube, and I heard he dove towards one of his mates.

I'm totally on his side. I think it is his right to decide. I know how annoying it is to have people taking your photo when you don't want it and how much worse is it to have umpteen cameras and flashes going off in your face ALL night. ?? It must put them off sometimes, which means everyone suffers because the music isn't as good as it could be. When I used to do concert photography the rule was no flashes. !! Everything flashes these days :lol:

I respect your opinion, BUT I believe if you didn't want your pic taken, then you shouldn't be a DJ. Like I said I will not be taking his picture anymore. :D

I would agree it probaby gets pretty annoying when you are trying to get people in the mood and all you see on the dance floor is people snapping pics left and right and standing there all night trying to record your whole set on their small camerasIf you want pics with the dj get them outside the club with the rest of the paparazzi or when they are walking around chatting and want to have pics with everyone. I'm guilty of snapping a pic here or there, I'm mainly talking about the self proclaimed James Camerons who are there to document the whole night in 1080p. :D
I see a lot of people just taking pics and standing doing videos a ton anymore and I think it is a bit annoying and I bet it annoys the piss out of some djs since they prob think the crowd is there to take vids more than listen to what they are throwing down.

^^^ Yeah, most djs do make themselves available for pics when they are not playing . I also find it annoying when I am dancing and people crowd in front of me to do vids or pics. And I am never front row. :lol: It's called a dancefloor for a reason people ;) While I'm here I don't like wearing peoples drinks either.:lol: Btw, although the quality has improved a little, most youtubes are pretty crap :)

As has been pointed out, they do make themselves available and it would be a much better memento if you actually had a photo taken with the Dj. :D

my 2 cents:
i dont think most people mind cameras in the club. its been fine for a long time, why all of a sudden is it this big thing?
camera phone flashes.
i hate them myself, they are LED and they STAY ON for like 5 seconds, its super bright and very annoying. they blind anyone they are taking a picture of.
opposed to true camera that flash in less than a second, you cant really tell if it was a flash or a strobe light in the club.

^^^VIt hasn't been fine , it's just that it has got so bad people /Djs are coming out and saying so. Most of the people I know don't like them. And not that keen on strobes either. :) ANY Flash is annoying. It is possible to take photos without a flash.
Basically being old school ,:), and an ex photographer, I just think it's a bit rude to shove a camera in someones face while they are working. The flash just makes it twice as bad.

It took a while.. but here is what I have from Digweed's show @ Vagabond.. what a set that was, he just destroyed the room.
