o yes. those are classics. i have not seen them around for years. but surely when i was a child i had those in my mouth or put them together.
ah yes. i remember. i made huge Ninja Stars and tossed them at my younger brother. He was a test subject for a lot my weapons.

Oh my gosh, those are definitely a blast from the past!
I totally like the yellow square pieces with the middle missing. I used them as windows when I was building a house. Another time I used them as the frames to build a pair of eyeglasses.
It was stimulating how the "stickle" part of the bricks created a tingling sensation when you were using them.

I think they're called bristle blocks if my half ass memory serves me right. I was a tinker toy kid myself. 8)
