Dug out their mixes for a spin (available on hybridized). Still sounding wicked after 8 years. Whatever happened to them?

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

Steve James (RIP) was a member of DW... I agree, great mixes all around.

Yea, I believe it was Steve James and one other guy.. I think Steve was more on the DJ side but he did want to get into production... I remember talking to him about DW and why it disbanded but that was so long ago I forget the reason.. :(

Great mix that is... I also liked the one that they did for the Proton show Rythmaculture.. check that one out too.

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

Deep Space Organisms too, wtf happened to them? Digweed loved them so much he did a Kiss mix using just their tracks.

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

Hmmm... you know, I´ve always been under the impression that Steve had something to do with DW too, but everything I´ve seen about them mentions only Marcus Andrew and Ned Shephard...

I wonder why I, like ddr, do this association..

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

if I recall correctly - steve was with digital witchcraft in the very very early days - then they went their separate ways.

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

i can hear those mixes in my head still when I read the tracklist, that's how many times I listened to them in college .

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

steve was marc's roommate in atlanta and were friends in tampa before that. marc and ned shepard were digital witchcraft, but steve did do work with them from time to time although not much. marc and ned met in fullsail. ned is from canada.

i agree that their stuff still effing rocks. i've never heard a similar sound since. i lived a couple miles from them in atlanta and i'd go over there all the time. it was always so cool marc would be working on a tune, showing me what he's doing, etc etc. i wish DW would have been together longer and made more music together.

cool, I was just cast in a web-series at Full Sail called Technopolis. Check out the trailer, but keep in mind this trailer was made with a $0 budget.

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

pretty good for $0 budget trailer... not shocking its done well though if its created by full sail grads/students. they usually make sure their students come out with top knowledge of whatever they went there for.

do you have a big role in the series?

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

I thought the DW guys were from TX where Steve went once every other month to spin.

#1574559Post 21 of 26

Re: Anyone remember Digital Witchcraft?

nope! might have been another group bringing him to texas but in the 3-4 years he lived in atlanta, i don't remember steve going to texas to dj on a regular basis. maybe that was post-atlanta.

I don't know if he went to full sail or not to be honest, they used the facility for the casting though, so the director was prob a former student. I have a good supporting role, I'm the captain of the outlanders, who are kind of like "mad max" types. The cast has about 100 people.

definitely clears that up, haha. thanks Garrick!

and I agree, I really liked their early 2003-2004 stuff, especially that Rythmaculture mix I referred to earlier... so someone get the word to Ned or Marc, we need more mixes!! =p
