Ugh...the dubstep craze has taken over MPLS as well.

For me it's only listenable for a short bit. Hopefully it'll pass away as did the electro influence from the mid 2000s.

I know I work with an 18 year old kid and he talks to me about Dubstep all the time.. I can't stand it personally but hey whatever floats your boat I guess.

Dubstep seems to have sneaked up on us, also to be 'popular' in Shanghai and in Singapore. It's certainly not as popular like trance and r n b or the DJs in the top 100, but for some reason people seem to have picked it as the latest 'underground' fad to be nuts over.

Did dubstep come out of drum n bass? Always reminds me of drum n bass + electro influence.

Yeah I don't know why dubstep got so popular recently, but seems like a lot of people in my generation are into it. Dubstep and electrohouse are two genres I can't seem to get into.

Dubstep's been pretty big for ages, always been a sleeping giant in the EDM scene. Always thought it to be a mix of breaks and jungle/dnb but these days it's just seems like a mix of annoying grime with ,,,[I]electro. [/I]

The recent popularity I think should be blamed because of Radio 1 and Radio 1 alone. Every second song is a bloody dub.
