I only listened to first 20 minutes last night and was impressed.Track 2 is excellent 'your love is like heaven and hell....dont make me break the spell'.

I will listen to the rest at work today and see if I can spot anything

Which digweed set are people talking about? :? The one from Feb. 27 before Lisle that is currently available here, or the one from this past weekeend (March 5) before Zabiela that doesn't appear to be available yet? I see people referring to both...

If it's the one from Feb. 27, I know a couple of the tracks... 17:19 - Forward UK feat. Mone - Forward [Instrumental Club Mix] (Hadshot) 51:30 - Snake Sedrick & Andro - Liquid State (Screen)

If it's the most recent one, I only recognize Phil K & Habersham - Cloudbrake (Lexicon Avenue Remix) starting around 46 minutes.

The mix sounds very similar to his recent 4 hour set at Bedrock (Godskitchen).

I'm afraid that it sounds far better as an isolated 1-hour mix, than when compared to the stuff he was playing when I saw him 2 weeks ago (nothing memorable and a hell of a lot of plodders). Very disappointing (as the recent feedback from his Fabric appearance a week earlier would also suggest) .... sorry.

The night was however saved by Jonathan Lisle ... who played the best warm up set since Hernan got promoted. Crackin prog with lots of dynamics (i.e. like Diggers [u]used[/u] to play).

Yeah the live mix didn't do much for me either...sounded like the usual warm up part of the set he loves to broadcast on his radio shows. If he played the peak time part people could rip a track of his mighty precious record box and you can't allow this no no no. :roll:

I can't believe I'm agreeing :shock: But John's Kiss sets haven't been all that good for about a year or so (exceptions of a few here and there)

Grounds for being thrown out of the "other" board. However I AGREE with you. I [b][size=7]HATE[/size][/b] his Fabric CD. It's also true that it wouldn't hurt if he would show the rest of the world what he's capable of. I love and miss his "old" sound.

I thought Johns Fabric CD was great. He could have easily put together a more "accepted" mix but he took a chance and showed everyone that it is not all about prog. Besides I wouldnt classify what John plays now typical prog in fact I wouldn't call it prog at all more like electronic music in all its forms. He just keeps pushing the boundaries and discovering NEW sounds, after all isnt that what a DJ is supposed to do. Just my 2 cents.

Well I seriuosly think that 2/27 set is more than just good, it feels like a real banging liveset by John the Man when he's in the mood to rain destrution on the dancefloor :twisted:
