This fella is playing tomorrow here in Lima for the first time ever. Supposedly its going to be one hell of a party since its the anniversary of the promoters. However I haven't been following this guy much lately. What do you guys think? yay or nay?

Re: Danny Tenaglia, thoughts?

I've seen him a couple of times play live and his marathon sets are worth seeing if you have the endurance to last the night. He's not really a dj that translates well to a double cd compilation, because of his long, playing things out style.

Re: Danny Tenaglia, thoughts?

Respected the guy in his earlier days, but just doesn't cut it in this current age imho.

Re: Danny Tenaglia, thoughts?

Have to say he apparently played amazingly here in Sydney last year. But I'm pissed off that he didn't grace us here in Melbourne with a club night.

Interview from Hernan's forum. http://www.hernancattaneo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=179

Re: Danny Tenaglia, thoughts?

Saw him at Heaven, Bedrock in about 2001 when he was a surprise guest for Digweed's birthday. The best nights clubbing I've ever had without a doubt.

If you can ignore his antics then he is well worth seeing IMO

That would have been 2000 the night before the Global Underground London party at Home

Re: Danny Tenaglia, thoughts?

I've caught him a few times over the years at Home, Heaven Arc and various festivals. The last was back in 2004 at Heaven. I was going to see him in Bucharest a few years back but it didn't happen. He was great back then, but if his Renaissance CD & that RA mix are anything to go by I wouldn't bother making a big effort to catch him.

Re: Danny Tenaglia, thoughts?

Arsenal??

Seriously.. the guy has been at the top of his game for about 35yrs now, he was playing at the Garage when sasha was about 10.

Yes, he's gay. Shock horror.

Yea he doesn't like his sets being shared illegally, but he's not alone there. No other dj is villified in the same way for the same things. If Hernan gets stroppy about an unauthorised set, people here jump straight on the sharers and crucify them, demanding we show Hernan more respect. If Danny does same it's a hissy fit.

Homophobia is a live and well , viva acid house.

So no, it was the way he went about it. Not that he did it. And the fact that he gives us absolutely nothing , we have to buy tickets or Cds to get anything from Danny. It has absolutely nothing to do with his sexuality.

Danny does throw hissy fits. Hernan doesn't!!! The only time I have seen/heard Hernan express displeasure was when someone has denigrated a fellow Dj or when someone misrepresented someone else's work as their own. Which is why we respect him. :) And why we throw the hissy fits on his behalf  His attitude when the Perth set came up was sad it came out , but you can't do anything about it so let's get on and do something amazing to replace it. And he gave us the fabulous MS birthday mix.
