Man, put this on last night, awesome disc.I rarely listen to chill cd's, I'd much rather have a beat in the background when I'm playing the PS2, but this is different. There are a few tracks on there that arent mindblowing, but then you have track 3, sasha-baja, global communication, depeche mode, angel baby and finishing with the sublime gorecki.

And just how good is angel baby-format 2.1?Shame its only 2 minutes long!

i love that disc

I agree! All of the back to mine are real decent cds.

I think Ive seen a thread like this before. Seamans Back to Mine is a classic, and probably the most loved of the series by downtempo enthusiast. The tracklisting is great, and Gorecki is a beatiful track, so much, that my girlfriend would like to have it played at her wedding. Crazy. If you like this one, check out Danny Tanaglia's BTM. Its got some classic cuts on it too!

You know, I've seen this CD on shelves for many years and always hesitated to pick it up. At first you could only get the import version of the disc and that was at Borders Music store and it was ~$40, which is why I had always passed it up. But recently I saw a US version for around 18 buckaroos. This is the first time I have ever read any reviews on the disc and they seem pretty good. Perhaps it is time to pick this one up... :)

Forcefed - definitely buy it its awesome.Perfect for relaxing too.

I have Tenaglia's BTM as well, and that too is good.Tenaglia's is more a collection of tracks, whereas Seaman's is a proper set, mixed perfectly as you'd expect

Re: Dave Seaman's Back to Mine

I never heard Seamans... Nick Warrens was really good. DT's was decent also. I also like the Carl Cox one that came out not too long ago. Not something you would expect from him and shows off his versatility..

im not a huge fan of the back to mine series, or dave seaman, but its not too shabby :P

The Nick Warren BTM is very cool too.

#372106Post 13 of 20

talvin sighn BTM fan here :0)

#372108Post 14 of 20

Yep, both Dave Seaman's and Nick Warren's BTMs are incredibly good. I wish they kept the series to proper DJs, if anyone knows what a BTM set would sound like it'd be them.

The Orbital one is good - worth buying just for the true classic Earth Leakage Trip tune (worth a small fortune). The programming may be a bit strange but all the tunes are great.

my favs are: Everything but the girl Talvin Sigh Nick Warren (awsome how it ends: Glide - Space van)

Re: Dave Seaman's Back to Mine

best work seaman ever did IMO. agreed with the above postings about it telling a narrative story. dave should just mix downtempo comps for a living.

preferred the nick warren BTM myself. that glide track is sweet. picked the glide album up after that, not too shabby either

I think Seaman's GU's are pretty shitty (yes all of them), but I enjoy his Back To Mine.

have bought some of the other back to mine series disks but have never been as pleased as I was with the seaman mix...
